Circa 1798, The Gadsden House is listed on the National Historic Register + celebrated as one of the top 10 historic properties to preserve in Charleston. The Federal style Charleston manor was originally built in the late 18th century by Revolutionary War hero Christopher Gadsden who presented his son with the property as a wedding gift.

Coupled with professional expertise, our thoughtful attention to detail + genuine dedication to each client ensures a truly memorable experience.
The venue can accommodate outdoor ceremonies of up to 180 guests + indoor ceremonies of up to 80 guests. Seated dinners of up to 180 guests + stationed style receptions of up to 250 guests can be hosted utilizing both the interior + exterior spaces. Drop-in style cocktail functions of up to 300 guests are also welcome.
The venue rental fee includes use of the courtyard gardens, piazzas, parlor rooms, furnished bridal suite + furnished groom's quarters. Please note that furniture + rentals are not included in the rental rate. All tables, linens, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, tenting, lighting, etc. must be rented through a third party vendor.
Featuring makeup vanities, soft seating, floor length mirrors, beautiful natural light + private baths, our picturesque bridal suite is the perfect place for all day pampering with your bridal party. Complete with a wet bar, big screen television + handsome lounge furniture, our masculine groom's quarters offers an ideal location for the gents to spend the day before walking down the aisle.

Where do I begin with the fabulousness that is the KSHG team and their venues? We hosted both our rehearsal dinner (at Upstairs at Midtown) and wedding reception (at the Gadsden House) with KSHG and can’t imagine having done it any other way. From the initial email correspondence to our send off at the end of the evening, each team member maintained an unmatched level of professionalism, care and willingness to accommodate. We are still blown away by how incredible the team at KSHG is and we’ll continue to remark on how they truly made our wedding that much more special. The service is impeccable

The best!! Lindsey, Kathleen & the whole King Street Hospitality Group were absolutely amazing throughout the whole process and truly made sure that we had the best day ever. Over the almost 2 years of planning, Kathleen and the team were extremely responsive answering all our questions and concerns via phone, email, and even FaceTime. Kathleen is one of the sweetest people and went out of her way to make sure our experience was as stress-free as possible.

From our initial venue tour to the booking process, food tasting and the patience of the team with all of our questions throughout the whole process - this team was absolutely perfect. the venue itself is gorgeous - offering so much natural character for the ceremony/reception/pictures and a beautiful bridal sweet and grooms quarters for getting ready. It is so great to have the house for the whole day to get ready and to see your vision come to life as the vendors set up. And the food... the food was DELICIOUS

The Gadsden was my dream wedding venue and as a wedding photographer, I had some pretty high standards for my dream venue so this review is backed with lots of first hand wedding experience! When Covid happened, I had to let go of that dream.. but as things began opening back up, I reached out in hopes of creating a micro wedding editorial. We simply cannot say enough about the Gadsden House. The venue is absolutely stunning, our guests could not stop raving about how delicious the food was and the staff blew away and exceeded all of our expectations. Lindsey and Kathleen went above and beyond to make sure the night went smoothly and made sure we had everything we could possibly need (and then some). Even our guests were stunned by how attentive they were to us, our guests and every single detail of our wedding day. I'm a local wedding officiant and always love coming to the Gadsden House for weddings. Seems to me that the couples that I'm marrying here are always fun, laid back, and the guests also are the same. I believe some of this is due to what a relaxed atmosphere and classy place the Gadsden House.

You and your entire team on the wedding day were absolutely AMAZING! I have not stopped singing all of your praises since we left Charleston.
I personally have not done many destination weddings in my 14 year career as a wedding coordinator, due to the lack of control I have working with vendors that I don’t have any experience or relationships with. Planning a wedding long distance can be stressful for sure. But everyone at Gadsden House has a professionalism and passion for what you do and it shows.
