Services
Maley Funeral Home dates back to 1890 as doing business in Covington, and the greater Tipton County area. It was established by the late Robert S. Maley for whom the business is named. Maley erected a building on East Liberty Street, on the Historic Covington Court Square, in 1923. This location remained the home of operation until it moved to the currently location in 1976.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity. Clinton Houston Moss, the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Yarbrough, is currently a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for the funeral home.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

In response to the last post that death certificate was sent to a doctor in Mississippi, a state we are not in, and lost by a nursing home. The doctor then asked us to send it to him directly but seeing as we are not a Mississippi funeral home we did not have the form he needed. In the end it did take longer than needed and we apologize for that.

Our family has used Maley-Yarbrough for all of our loved ones funerals. It pains me to write this review, but we are so disappointed by the back office at Maley-Yarbrough. We are trying to close our loved one's affairs, but the office failed to submit for a death certificate and then submitted an outdated form to the state a couple of weeks later. We would just like to close our loved one's affairs and start the healing process, but we are stuck in limbo due to carelessness and inattentiveness of the staff.
