Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection allows debtors to receive a discharge of certain debts such that you do not have to repay all or most of your debts. In essence, Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection allows people to start over, free from debt. People who have little to no equity in a home or car and are current with their loan payments may be able to keep their home, cars and other assets through a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing.
Debt relief can take many forms. Chapter 13 bankruptcy can provide needed relief for people who have assets they wish to protect from their creditors, and who have a regular source of income such as wages, pension or Social Security, and who may otherwise not qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.
MYTH #1: If I file bankruptcy, I will be forced to give up my cars, my house and all my belongings. The truth is that most people who file for bankruptcy protection do not have to give up anything at all. The bankruptcy laws allow you to exempt or protect most household goods and items, vehicles, tools of the trade and most personal effects.

Highly recommend Attorneys Ted Amourgis and Debbie Hostyk! They help me get the house in my divorce case but I really love the email correspondence because I work most of the time and can't call them during office hours. They were very accomodating and prompt in responding to my emails no matter how many I send in a day. A little bit expensive but is totally worth their excellent services and peace of my mind.

When my ex and I split, it was probably the most difficult time in my life. I found myself living alone, barely seeing my children and struggling to live and support my kids. The prospect of a contentious divorce and custody battle was almost too much to deal with.
When I called Ted and Debbie at Edwards Phillip Amourgis I was lost and feeling pretty desperate. They were able to ease many of my fears, to walk me through the divorce and custody process and help me understand what to expect. They were available at all hours, weeknights and weekends during almost a year of litigation. They helped

I hadn't seen my 1 yr for over 6 months because his mother was being very difficult & keeping him from me. I hired Ted Amourgis and he worked on my case diligently to get me access to my son within a shorty time.
With Teds guidance I was able to understand the process that was ahead and prepare confidently for trial, which took away a lot of… weight.
His expertise and knowledge got me through the process and to a final court ordered agreement that won me shared legal custody and fair visitation which allows me to now see my son regularly and with overnight weekly, without even having
