Asian City started in 1996 in Humble. It started off as just a Japanese restaurant back then. Then we added Chinese food onto the menu shortly afterwards which was a hit with the local community. In 2002 we added the Hibachi grills. Then in 2013 we added 6 more Hibachi grills. We boast a huge variety of different cusines from all of Asia.
Our entrance way features a Japanese-like garden. It has 3 ponds featuring Koi fish of various sizes. Some have actually been with us since the beginning. Inside we have a waterwheel as well as a cascadeing waterwall. We have a full bar as well as a sushi bar as well. We are conveniently located off of 59 near the Deerbrook Mall as well as the Bush Intercontinetal Airport.

The food is usually delicious.
The review today is for our waiter and how he dealt a situation we had. We had our entire meal there and then ordered the mousse cake to-go. He said he didn't know how it looked since I asked how big it was which wasn't a problem, we ordered it anyways. I believe he ended up giving us the Molten Lava Cake instead of the Mousse Cake. When we pointed it out, he brought back the check and threw it on the table for us to check. We were charged $8.49 for the Mousse Cake but I am certain we were given the Lava Cake.
What's disappointing is his attitude and

It's decent. Location is a little greasy on inside; they should make sure cleaning staff is properly wiping down the oils on tables... it's almost as if they're just rubbing the oils all over surfaces; should change out the rags or whatever they're using. I don't like that you have to choose either hibachi or the dine-In menu but once you choose hibachi, you're not allowed to get an appetizer or anything from the dine-in menu which is kinda weird. To be honest, I prefer the HB Japanese Steak House in terms of food for Hibachi... I would just take it to go cause they

I was not disappointed by the food, however, I was very disappointed at the treatment of the staff. I overheard the manager (pretty sure he's the manager) treating the servers poorly. As a restaurant manager myself, this is very distasteful as it shows lack of leadership. I believe that when critiquing a restaurant, we have to evaluate everything from the food to how the restaurant itself is being ran. If I wouldn't have witnessed the manager being disrespectful to his team, I would've given the five stars. Please do better with this issue. Thank you!

Placed an order through Grubhub and the restaurant failed to disclose they put peas & carrots in their lettuce wraps. I don't eat peas and carrots because I'm on Keto for one and I've had lettuce wraps at multiple restaurants without all that extra filler and no substance. Will not be ordering from here again.

Another great meal at Asian City. My husband grew up in Guam and has been craving the perfect curry katsu for years. Well, he found it! He was served 2 massive katsu cutlets that were perfectly breaded and crispy. The yellow curry gravy was exactly what he remembered eating as a kid. His meal was perfection and a great value.
I ordered Basil Chicken, and all the ingredients were fresh and delicious-- plenty of fresh basil, fresh sliced mushrooms and tender, moist chicken. The serving was enormous and I had plenty to take home.
My son ordered Kimchi fries, hot and fresh with kimchi and sriracha

A few pros & cons, but mostly a good experience.
They are strictly a single-order, quick lunch or dinner sort of establishment, with a simple menu & set hours that they do not deviate from. The food is admittedly fresh & delicious, but I would like to offer constructive criticism so they might be able to accommodate bigger orders & customized needs.
Sharing our experience, in case anyone plans something similar in the future:
My office was organizing an in-house luncheon for special clients who love Asian food but have special dietary needs. This restaurant was close proximity

I generally take more pictures of my food for reviews, but by the time my food got to me, I was starving. I sat in a booth for 20 minutes before someone actually acknowledged that I had been seated in their area. I had a 22oz Kirin, so that helped calm the nerves a bit.
Our food arrived 50 minutes after being seated. The sushi was good, but there wasn't anything extravagant about the food. We had a couple specialty rolls and an order of sashimi. I always get miso soup when I go eat sushi, and I'm a big fan of some tofu in my soup. My bowl only had maybe two small cubes.

Wait: Never a wait. Almost always seated immediately.
Server: They are always kind, always friendly, and very quick to accommodate.
Food Quality& Order: I give it 3 stars because it's Sushi in Houston. I've had Sushi all over and this cured my fix while I was down there for training. It's not the worst. It's not the best.
Atmosphere& Decor: The giant lucky cat was absolutely my favorite piece of decor. The fish are nice to look at too.
