Bamboo House

Great place for Chinese takeout that is not in Bellaire or Katy! However beware, everything is really juicy so open with caution. Got the bok chop with mushrooms and tofu and that is a really good dish. That and the boiling hot beef noodle soup (it was still so hot 40 minutes after I picked it up!) made my tummy happy. Food is very fast (15 minutes), are huge portions at a decent price. What you see in the picture is $25 and is honestly good for three full meals.

I’ve been passing by this restaurant for years and only upset that I didn’t try it sooner. First time trying it today and I have to say I’m very impressed. Food was excellent and portion sizes were very generous. I will be a regular customer from now on and look forward to trying more food on their menu.

Don’t waste your time going on at this time. No dine in. Rude service. I stopped by on the way to IAH airport had some free time so wanted to try this out. Didn’t realize it was only take out. So I tried it anyway. Took it to the airport with me for a quick meal. Pulled this out of the bag. It was shockingly. Why did they give me a whole duck body bones Togo?? It was so gross. Waste of money and time.

Ordered to-go cause that's the only way they roll right now; most of the food was decent to pretty dang good. Serving is more than expected, ordered 5 dishes to be shared between 6 people and still had leftovers for days. The Peking duck is definitely one of the better ones I've had in this city, skin is crispy and good amount of meat & tender (plus still tastes great after a few days when you oven it.) Will most likely come back when they open for full service again (Cashier says maybe another 2 months).

We came for lunch after Thanksgiving and had a wonderful treat for luncheon food selections. Our server was quite helpful and efficient. We order four dishes for our party. Although there was a party of about 50 already in the process of eating and being served food, our meal came out fast. The Peking Duck is awesome and skin is crispy. The duck soup and pancakes were excellent with the duck. The pancakes are thin identical to those I have had in more upscale Chinese restaurants cooking authentic Peking Duck. The other dishes were good and well proportioned so you can take some home. I recommend

The bamboo house is tucked away on the beltway eight feeder just east of Highway 69. You will miss it if you're not looking for it. However when you do find it you'll find a nice oasis of great Asian food. The decor is inviting and the building is large. The menu is very diverse. Yes you can get egg drop and wonton soup but there's not too many places in this part of the city where you can get roasted duck and fried lobster tails. I found the egg rolls to be hot and crispy and delicious. I also tried the spicy beef noodle soup which although expertly prepared it was a little too spicy even for

Laid back atmosphere, great service, delicious food. I enjoyed an overall great dinner date with my beautiful wife. The quantity was large and the prices were great. The food was cooked to perfection... the egg rolls and cheese puffs were perfectly crisp. The sweet tea was great. The food was hot when it reached our table. The service was prompt and with a smile. Great dining experience. I recommend this place to all.

I came with about 20 people but surprisingly the staff not only were courteous and quick to get our orders the food came out relatively quick and we were constantly checked on whilst eating which was impressive given the party size. The food was top notch. The prices were OK but given the portions and the taste they are more than justified. The food makes this restaurant easily a top 3 contender for Chinese food on the North side of Houston. I would give it 5 but it's messing an X-Factor but this might get resolved with a couple more visits...

Visited with my family on a whim. I refused to deal with 1960. Love the decor & the open kitchen behind the glass. We ordered the Szechaun Crispy Chicken, Basil Chicken, & House Fried Rice. Portions were generous. Food was great. The only issue I had with the place was our waitress going above & beyond to accommodate my son's food allergies. We ordered him a separate dish to be prepared one way. All of our dishes ended up being prepared that way. Brought it to the waitress attention & she instructed us to use the condiments on the table. This is definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the humble area and Greater Houston area! I've had Peking ducks in many places in North American cities but this is one of the most authentic! Most restaurants deep fried the duck to serve it quick but this place is really roasting the duck in a rotisserie oven. The result is much crispy duck with tender meat. I also ordered the house special noodle and others and they all came delicious! Most chinese restaurants use lots of MSG but this place they said no MSG (confirmed on Yelp as well). The price is excellent for the quality! Highly recommended
