The most common central cooling system is a split system, which includes an outdoor cabinet containing a condenser coil and compressor, and an indoor evaporator coil, usually installed in conjunction with your furnace or air handler. The compressor pumps a chemical called refrigerant through the system.

The technician seemed competent and was fairly polite. The job was completed and though he had to come out twice, my fingers are crossed that it’s fixed this time. But the price seemed very high to me. At least compared to AC work in the past. So in fairness I rated an average of 4 stars for work and 2 stars for price and professionalism.
True Fix charges $270 to do a very basic check (basically checked Freon levels and drains - they do not clean evaporator or condenser coils). They also tried to clear a plugged evaporator compartment drain.

Hands down the best customer service around and very knowledgeable technicians. I was refereed to these guys from a friend who has had them out to his homes before and I wasn't at all disappointed. AC went out at about 7:00pm and they called me back at 8:00pm. Scheduled me for the next day and by 2:00pm the next day everything was up and running. I think I was lucky by having them come out so quickly but if my AC goes out again and I am unable to schedule them to come out the next day I would rather wait a few more days just to have these guys come out to the house. I had a leak around my AC vent, and of course, assumed it was an AC problem. After my father was quoted an outrageous price for a brand new system, I stepped in and asked for them to delay the work because I wanted a second opinion. Had the salesman call me only to say "I assumed I was speaking with your father on this, not you." So right off the bat I was incredibly insulted. Two AC companies later, a repairman told me to call a plumber, and sure enough, it was a leaky pipe. Saved my family 22,000 dollars to actually get a repairman in who knew what he was doing. Best in class service, everyone I spoke was very friendly. It is Sat the 4th of July and my A/C units stopped working. I called and was told that all the techs were very busy and it might be diffecult to get someone out. After a few minutes she called back and informed me that indeed all the tech were on other calls, however the owner of the company would be in my area and would stop by to see if he could get it running. Within 30 min Gerald was here. He clearly was dress as if he was enjoying a nice holiday weekend out with his wife, however he had no problem getting down on his hands and knees
