I started Simply Thrive Psychotherapy, PLLC as an individual therapist in 2014, after working in a larger group practice for our years. The thought behind the name of my practice relates to the ability we all have to make choices in our life. I truly believe that despite the challenges we face in our life we can choose to make different, better decisions for ourselves.
I did not know this at the time, but this belief was written about by Viktor Frankl. My other inspiration comes from nature, it fascinates me that a forest fire can destroy absolutely everything in its path, yet that very fire sets the groundwork for a richness of growth to come in future years. Another example is that of the butterfly.

Services
Simply Thrive Psychotherapy, PLLC would like to welcome Danielle Edwards, LMFT-A as our newest Associate level clinician! Danielle received her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University, she was recently licensed as an associate counselor and enjoys working with individuals, couples and families.
Rachael is currently licensed as an associate, this means that she has completed her master's degree and has been granted licensure as a LMHC- however she is required to be supervised for the first two years of her clinical practice. Rachael is being supervised by the clinical director- Dr. Seymanski, Rachael has completed her basic training in EMDR and is able to offer this as a treatment.
My wish as a counselor is to foster a trusting relationship between us in which you feel safe, accepted for all that you are (not only the "good" parts), able to express vulnerability, say no, and try new things.
I find that talking about hard things in the context of such a relationship is the crux of the healing process, to which we can add skills such as mindfulness and emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, changing thoughts, and many others. My style is collaborative, adaptive, and caring--we will make goals together to decide what path is right for you.

As a Systemic therapist who also understands the importance of a person-centered approach, I help individuals, couples, and family's increase awareness of current emotional, behavioral, and communicative patterns that create a barrier to personal and interpersonal growth. Recognizing the importance of culture and identity, I utilize an intersectional approach to each individual and family.
I graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. During my doctoral clinical training as a generalist, I gained a broad range of clinical experience at an Illinois State psychiatric hospital, a substance abuse center, and a faith-based counseling center.

I’m not one to even particularly write reviews. I’m only giving 1 star because thankfully my therapist did in fact aid me through some very hard PPD I was dealing with for the 2-3 sessions I was even able to complete. I still need therapy however and after my missed appointment I have never received a callback anytime I’ve reached out to see if I need to schedule a new follow up. So I’ve sought help elsewhere since.
Pros: they did take my tricare insurance.
Cons: where to start. So beginning the entire scheduling process was a complete pain. I use to be a office clinic manager prior to

I would be weary of this place. Shady practices by management. Read some of the reviews, you can see the commonalities. They took a $50 deposit from me, applied my $31 copay towards it for my last visit and now won’t refund my $19. I wonder why they are so hard up for $19. Well I assume it’s because they unfortunately did not have my counselor certified with Tri-Care but represented as though the counselor was. All claims were denied and Tri-Care said they had to write the claims off and refund my copays for the misrepresentation, unless the counselor got certified and they were able to back

They charge you 50 when you cancel within 24 hours when their reminders are only 24 hours prior to appointment!!!!!
They charge you if you are ill and call into the appointment late 50!!!! They refuse to let you finish the session time and just bill you!
The counseling is more like a friendship then actually helping you be successful in handling post traumatic stress!
They don’t care!!!! I even told them they should make changes and they probably!
Highly don’t recommend!!!!! Wish I could give negative stars!

My time with the therapist was great. Productive and helpful. The fee policy is to much especially when you have a ADA disability and sometimes cannot know when you will be sick and cannot make the strick, no compromise 48 hour, $50.00 fee! They also do not credit you when the therapist or business is not open on a prescheduled appointment times because they forgot to inform their clients.

My star is solely for the office space- nice, clean, lots of seating, and coffee and water available. When I first contacted them, they said the office manager was out of office and I'd hear from them the next week. A month later, she finally contacted me and i was able to start a month or two later, which I didn't mind because normally therapist wait times are long. I felt like my sessions at first were effective and I had a good relationship with my counselor, but at some point the relationship changed, she talked over me constantly, and I felt my issues were minimized. Because of this, I stopped

Bless this place. I have spent over a decade trying to find the right therapist to fit my needs, with zero success. I even gave up for a while and lost all hope in ever getting the help I need. Thank goodness I decided to give "Simply Thrive Psychotherapy" a try. I have been seeing Gordy for almost a year now and it has made an unbelievable impact on my life. I feel refreshed and relieved after every session, knowing that I am cared for and that a much better, happier version of myself is finally attainable. The receptionists at the front desk are always super nice and welcoming. The lobby is also

They called and said they accepted me, made me fill out the forms and stuff, and took their sweet time to call me back and told me I’m apparently “not a good fit” Probably because I have state health insurance and they’re money hungry, because I called a few months ago and at that time they told me they weren’t accepting my insurance. Why get my hopes up to finally think I found a therapist, and then call me back to tell me I wasn’t a “good fit”. The lady even chuckled when she said “sorry”. If I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would.
