Korean Martial Arts is a martial arts school (dojang) in Maryland that teaches three traditional Korean styles - Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Kumdo. We offer small hands-on classes with skilled instructors who provide a challenging but supportive environment suitable for all ages. Our school is a member of the World Taekwondo, Korean Hapkido Federation, and the Korean Kumdo Federation.
Taekwondo focuses on sparring with kicking and punching, and is the official sport of Korea and an Olympic event. It uses forms, sparring, and board breaking techniques to help improve balance, physical strength, and endurance. Hapkido is a grappling art that also uses kicking and punching along with elbows and knee strikes.

Services
We offer an After School program with pick-up at local elementary schools. Korean Martial Arts will pick the students up at the end of the school day. The students will come together for a martial arts class with other students of similar age. We offer a Summer Camp program where students will come together for a morning martial arts class with other students of similar age and then head out on a fun activity for the remainder of the afternoon.

I have been exercising with my son for two month now. I am a 44 years old man and doing this again 32 years after I got a black belt when I was young, just for my son. Below are the summary on this place.
This place...
1. Is very good for the family members all together. This promotes the good relationship between me and my son. Same thing will happen to you. I see other family members also look very happy by doing this together.
2. Gives a goal and and its achievement to us. I and my son started from a white belt, and after certain time and test, I got a yellow white belt. When we got a new

Have been attending classes for about two months and very happy with this school. Master Kim is personally very capable, and teaches every class himself. He emphasizes respect and focus during training, but overall is very patient and warm. Very family friendly atmosphere—many parents attend alongside their kid(s). 1st-3rd degree black belts student I have seen seemed very competent: they knew their patterns inside and out, were crisp in their movements, and able to perform high difficulty spinning jump kicks and breaks.

My entire family (2 adults and 2 children, ages 3 and 8) joined this school a few months ago because my son wanted to learn Taekwondo. We typically go to 2-3 lessons each week, but we would seriously go every day if our schedules permitted, because all of us LOVE and look forward to Master Kim’s classes. My kids get super excited whenever they change into their Taekwondo uniform! A few things I really like about the school are scheduling flexibility as there are multiple classes offered each day, Master Kim’s excellent teaching and his ability to work with children, and the fact that my husband

Going to Korean Martial l Arts has been a fantastic experience . I've been going there for quite a few years, Grand Master Kim makes learning fun. The instructors and students are like family.. If your thinking about taking a class call and sign up for an introductory class at no charge, you'll be glad you did.

This place is truly a gem! As of writing this review, my kids have been enrolled in Taekwondo at Grandmaster Kim's Korean Martial Arts dojang in Gaithersburg for roughly half a year. Aside from obvious improvements in physicality, I've seen my children's confidence levels increase, as well as their abilities to focus and follow directions. Naturally, that carries over into the rest of their endeavors.
Grandmaster Kim's credentials speak for themselves, but what I can add here is that he is *TERRIFIC* with children (as are his assistant instructors). The atmosphere is safe and family friendly,

Classes at Korean Martial arts are great! I love the instruction and the in-depth knowledge I receive every time I step into the school. As a continuing student of Taekwondo, it's been challenging and rewarding. As a new student to the art of Hapkido, it's been a fun and rewarding experience to take on a whole new martial art form. I love the practical application and the emphasis on boosting student's confidence that I continually see our instructors carry out.

This is a great school!! My two children love the instructors and the grand master. They are learning not only a martial art, but also the discipline and value of working on something worth earning. They also get a chance to socialize with adults and kids, and physical fitness is stressed.
My children enjoy it so much, we come from Frederick to Gaithersburg on Saturday for class.
