Visiting San Antonio in the middle of the summer can only make it easier to stroll down the river Walk and take the time to ride the boats, the tour last about 30 - 40 minutes with funny and knowledgeable staff, it’s worth the try!
We also walked around many national recognized restaurants with a great selection of food, wine and locally brewed beer.
We stopped by the ice cream shop and enjoyed sitting in the bistro tables inside the shop.
I will have to mention the homeless and street performers are all down the river.

Melanie was amazing. The attention she gave us and our event was second to none! She definitely went above and beyond/exceeded our expectations! We went on a Saturday afternoon and was about a twenty minute wait. They text you on your phone when they’re ready to seat you. I had sour cream enchiladas and they were delicious. They have a lot of televisions and had the football games on. Our server was very good. My wife ended buying one of their T-Shirts since her name is Rita.

Rio Plaza is a beautiful facility with several room options, among them a balcony overlooking the River and the architectural gem of the Nix Building. Melanie was easy to work with, and she was accommodating to our ideas and offered her own suggestions that fixed/improved on our thoughts where needed. The staff did an outstanding job setting up both their equipment the things that we'd brought, as well as easing delivery of outside things (DJ, florist, bakery, etc.). The food was excellent -- wonderful, complex flavors, and plenty of it.

My husband and I were married on the 4th floor (Las Leyendas) of Rio Plaza in October. The entire process leading up to the big day was extremely pain free! Melanie, our wedding coordinator, was very accommodating and understanding. She worked with us when we had to reschedule appointments and she made us feel comfortable every step of the way. She was great! The venue was decorated beautifully on the day of our wedding and everyone had a great time! Melanie and her staff did a wonderful job! If we had to do our wedding again, we'd still pick Rio Plaza.

There are not enough stars to describe how well they did. 4th floor, sit down dinner, early April. It could not have been more perfect. Katie was so helpful and did an amazing job making our wedding reception a most wonderful memory. I highly recommend them. Never be afraid to ask questions and always let them know how you envision it and they will make your dreams come true... I can't say enough good things about them. Thank you Rio... PS - And this was all setup long distance since we are from Florida.

We had our wedding here in March 2010 and I cannot recommend this facility based on the service/staff. The facility itself is beautiful and unique and they don't nickel and dime you like most wedding places, but the event manager who we initially loved and thought would take amazing care of us ended up almost ruining my wedding day. Our first few encounters with her were wonderful, she was so warm and nice and energetic. Our last meeting with her, however, which she totally forgot we had scheduled, started out very very bad.
