Services
From the moment guests walk through the solid oak doors, the sophisticated ambiance is unmistakable. The aroma of hearty steaks fills the restaurant, while the sultry sounds of jazz enliven the crowd. It's hard to imagine that only a few decades ago Birmingham's Big Rock Chophouse was a port for travelers across the country.
Big Rock Chophouse is proud to introduce its new garden. In Spring 2015, we designed and created four garden boxes for our chefs to plant. Each box is 4 feet wide by 15 feet long. We're growing fruits, herbs and vegetables including asparagus, strawberries, lavender, buckwheat, tomatoes, squash, lettuce, zucchini and more!

If you haven't been here, you are running out of time! Sadly, it will be closing on 12/30/21. The food here is awesome and so is the service. It's a great place for a dinner outing where you know you will enjoy your food. You won't find a better prepared steak! The ambience is also great. If you are into cigar bars, there us one upstairs with all the ambience and atmosphere you could ever want. Drinks are superb and there is a walk-in humidor where you can select cigars for purchase.

Used to really enjoy going here. Unfortunately, something has changed. A couple of us went there last week to just hang out at the bar and the two female bartenders were terrible. To sum it up, they are rude, obnoxious, and political. Keep politics out of your work and mind your own business. Noone asked for your opinion. One said she has worked there for 10 years. That's a shame that management has allowed her behavior for so long. I feel badly for the other employees that work there that they have to deal with the bully bartenders. Food was meh!

The food is better than the decor. Everything was delicious here. Pretty straight forward steakhouse menu. Nothing wrong with that at all. Like I said everything was great. Staff was polite and friendly.
Decor is odd. Part cabin, part lodge, part Vegas gone wrong. Honestly I couldn't stop looking at all the mash-up. Soooo.... entertaining I suppose! It just needs some interior Reno/updating to a cohesive theme. Fun time. Would go again np.

The patio was beautiful, Mark the waiter gave our table good service and the seafood
chowder was the highlight of the evening. The rest of the meal was atrocious. The short rib was dry, not tender and lacked sauce. I had to order a side of zip sauce to choke it down. The side of ”shredded" Brussels sprouts was pitiful, it belonged in the trash. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box. The filet was flavorless and cooked poorly. The onion crisps on top were chewy and tasted like they were fried in old grease. Probably the second worst meal I've had all year. Complete waste of
