Beautiful interior and loved the Polish music being played. Very good selection of beer and drinks. For the food we had, here are the votes...
Kielbasa and Kraut - very good with large portion.
Pierogi - small, not fresh, disappointed.
Potato pancakes - just ok.
I so wanted to love the food and maybe I’m a bit more critical from growing up with a Polish Mom and Dad that cooked Polish food. But I think there are better Polish food restaurant options out there, especially for pierogi and potato pancakes.
I may go back back and try some other items. If so I will update.

The first thing you notice about Polka Polish is the atmosphere. The outside of the building has a giant mural of two Polka dancers. When you enter the restaurant, there is Polka music playing, a huge mural of monks and a lady drinking wine and beer near the bar, servers dressed in costumes, flowers, a lit wall with a realistic scene of horses and buggy and more. It reminds me of Zehnder's of Frankenmuth and Barvarian Inn. We came on a Friday night at 7:00 pm with a party of seven and the restaurant was basically dead, very few diners other than us. The menu has lots of items from goulash

This place has kapusta and city chicken close to what my mom used to make. The pierogi dough is a little thick, but not bad at all and the filings are properly seasoned.
That should be case closed. Seriously people, the food here is really close to what my 100% Polish, off the boat last generation family knows as home cooking.

First, this place is HUGE! I love the decor, I love the aesthetic; very comfy.
Food portions here are also pretty massive; two people could probably share one entree. Hearty recommendation for any of the perogies and schnitzel.
Everything is well prepared and delicious, the food is always hot and satisfying. I've never had a bad experience here and it's my go to place for Polish food!

Great authentic Polish food. I don't care much for the kielbasa, but everything else we tried was great and reminded me of family recipes. We loved the soups, pierogi, city chicken, chicken schnitzel, potato pancakes and desserts (lemon bars and mini paczki!). The restaurant is attractive, clean and comfortable, and the prices are great. Our server Martyna was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely return, and would like to catch the Polish retail shop next door.

I have now eaten at the Polka restaurant twice, and it has been quite pleasant. The service is friendly and polite, and the cuisine is authentic and enjoyable - the soups are particularly good.
Some of the other reviewers complained that the prices were high, but I would have to disagree. They seemed quite in line with other contemporary restaurants, and, in Troy (where rents are higher), reasonable. Most customers are probably used to patronizing Polish restaurants in burned-out areas in "the hood" where restaurants, as well as they, are cheap.
Too bad The Polka is a long way from where I live

Yum! Sausages, blintzes, pierogi, oh my! We came for a baby shower, so we got to sample everything, and it was just delicious. There were mimosas and bloody marys available to us; the bloody Mary comes in a mug with a pickle and olive and is spicy and not weakly poured. As for food, to start, a green salad with pears and homemade sweet dressing and creamy cucumber salad, then cheese blintzes and potato pancakes served with sour cream, applesauce, the works. Both meat and sweet cheese pierogi, sauerkraut, fresh and smoked sausage and a fried pork roll type thing with brown gravy. Everything was

Wow wow wow wow wow.
Last night my girlfriend and I were discussing what we should have for dinner. She says to me "I want to try that Polish place in Troy!", which I said "Oh, yeah! Polish Market is great", thinking we were going grocery shopping for a nice home cooked meal. As we arrived and I tried parking in the Markets side of the lot, she informed me she was referring to this place called "Polka" across the way. I didn't even know this place opened. Last time I visited this plaza, that building was unoccupied.
Well, I am glad she suggested this!

Spending the night in Troy, MI tonight, and decided to go a little more "ethnic" for dinner. Based on other Yelp! Reviews, I chose to give this place a shot, and WOW, took me right back to my childhood in my grandmothers kitchen!
Not being able to decide, I opted for the Polka Combo, which is 3 Pierogis (I chose potato and cheddar), kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Every bit of it was delicious. The pierogis were cooked perfectly, sautéed in onions and butter, the smoked kielbasa was delicious, mashed and sauerkraut were amazing, and the stuffed cabbage..

Seriously delicious! I would highly recommend the pretzel. It's warm and soft but crunchy on the outside. It tastes very freshly made and has 3 different dipping sauces. The cinnamon butter was my personal favorite. Good selection for pierogi fillings, and they were cooked nicely, the right amount of crisp. I also enjoyed the potato pancakes because they had a good crunch. The place is quite large so it would be good for groups. Staff was nice and dressed to theme. Service was quick and enjoyable!

Finally, we made it thru the doors! We've been trying to visit this restaurant for the past several months. This place is quite large and has beautiful murals throughout. We opted to sit at the bar and peruse the beer selection. We were greeted by D, the bartender, who was very accommodating and gave me a few samples to taste. I opted for a beer flight. We ordered the chef sampler, dill pickle soup, and a side of peirogis, which were delish.
We were visited by the manager who inquired about our experience and opinion on our favorite types of beer. He discussed the future plans for

So, any place that will let you build and customer order your own combo plate, is a five star, period! Not to mention that the food itself is also completely legit. Growing up in Detroit, whenever dad wanted to head down to Hamtramck, that was big deal! That meant one thing...we were about to get our "Pierogi" on. I've tried and tried to explain what a Pierogi is to those who've never tried one and it's tough. Here in the Southwest, I just tell my friends it's "an Eastern Block version of an Empanada"....a pocket of love!

A wonderful place. I was born in Poland and it nice to have some of the food I remember from the old country. The food was spectacular, service was great. Everything was perfect the soups were just like the kind I make at home. If you have not tried Polish food before what are you waiting for?! Stop reading reviews and go! Trust me you will enjoy it. There is even a bar for those who fancy adult libations. Enjoy. Smacznego.
