For more than 50 years, Kennedy Heights Montessori Center has inspired a love of learning in children from toddler age through kindergarten. Founded on principles developed by Maria Montessori, KHMC is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive educational environment for eager young learners to help prepare them for lifelong success.
The Montessori educational environment emphasizes hands-on exploration in our little learners. Montessori has so much to offer! When we began looking for a preschool, we had quite a wish list. We wanted a school that taught our daughter independence, responsibility, and life skills, but it was just as important to us that she was in a safe environment with highly qualified teachers that embraced diversity.

Services
Kennedy Heights Montessori Center (KHMC) was founded in 1965 by a group of neighbors wishing to provide a beneficial preschool experience for their children. The school has been organized as a parent co-operative with a philosophy and curriculum drawn from the principles developed by Maria Montessori.
KHMC's educational curriculum offers programming for young learners beginning at age 24 months and extends through the Kindergarten year. The Toddler program is designed to nourish the natural development of the 2-year-old child and encourage a love of learning. It focuses on order, concentration, coordination, independence, and sharing within a peaceful environment, while also aiming to prepare the student for the 3-6 year-old program.
Kennedy Heights Montessori Center is currently accepting resumes to immediately hire for the position of Classroom Assistant working 10am -5:45pm, who meets the high expectations we have of our teachers and staff here at Kennedy Heights Montessori Center, a 5 Star rated SUTQ, non-profit, parent cooperative Montessori School for 2-6 yr.
Both KHMC and the Montessori environment are unique compared to other early childhood education options, and it's important to first assess whether the KHMC community is a good fit for your child and your family. Please find the details of our KHMC Enrollment Process below. Please complete and submit an enrollment application with application fee ($15) as well as a parent questionnaire.
Timeline PhotosFred Rogers spoke to a parenting magazine in 1985 about how children might react when it is time for them to go school for the first time. Some children will be excited to join the world of the bigger kids in a school setting, while others may be nervous and regress in some ways, like needing more hugs or thumb sucking.

I am eternally grateful for Kennedy Heights Montessori. My daughter attended the school from 2013-15, when I was a struggling single mom. My life was endlessly stressful, difficult, and overwhelming at that time, but KHMC was nothing but a safe and happy haven for my daughter and myself. The educators and staff were warm, friendly, and wonderful. We felt so at home at KHMC, and my daughter loved school. My daughter has always been opinionated and spirited, and sometimes had her difficult moments, but she was always treated with respect and empathy. I loved the ethos of the school, the diversity

Do not send your children here. Administrative staff unprofessional and rude. At first staff seems to be happy and bubbly but when the school year begins, completely different. The Montessori teachers, always appear to be irritated and not happy with their jobs. Which reflects on the way they treat the children.

My son started at KHMC at age 2 1/2. It is an excellent alternative to daycare. He has learned so much since he started. They stress independence and learning through doing. His vocabulary is expanding, he is learning great social skills, plus he is learning how to be a good student. I am glad I found KHMC. The teachers and staff are friendly and attentive, the building is great, and I feel good having my son attend there for preschool next year.

This has been the perfect "launching pad" for my child! KHMC offers a loving yet robust educational environment for young students, focusing on respect, peace, diversity, and preparedness in a wide variety of subjects. I've no doubt my child is poised for success as he moves on to first grade. Thank you!

If you're looking for a quality montesorri toddler/preschool/kindergarten education, this is it. My youngest child is currently enrolled as kindergartner and I could not be more pleased with the instruction she has received. The school recently moved into their permanent home in a beautiful space in the heart of Kennedy Heights. The new space has generous classroom sizes, a dedicated kindergarten room, a "large muscle" room that allows the children to be active even when the outside elements are not cooperative and an extended day space for all the before and after care needs. The teachers and

Wonderful preschool and kindergarten Montessori program! Teachers and staff are dedicated - several have been there for many years. They provide a positive, loving environment for children to experience and learn in. Full day and partial day options. Amazing new facility with plenty of room for kids to move, play and learn!
