Our work begins with an initial site visit, where we outline our capabilities and learn about the scope of your project. After our initial meeting, we'll return with professional landscape design plans for your review along with a statement outlining the scope of costs. Buhrman Design Group was commissioned to reinvigorate this Lake Forest home landscape that was designed in 1917 by the famed landscape designer Jens Jensen. All historical areas were numbered, photographed and documented for a precise reconstruction.
While many new areas were added, all historical spaces were reinstalled with approval of the village board and historic preservation committee, exactly as designed and originally constructed by Jens Jensen.This project was offered to us by clients that were impressed with our work on other neighboring sites.

I don't like to write these but I can't think of any other way than to get the word out there. I don't actually use Buhrman, my neighbor does. I've spoken to my neighbors about this, but they are elderly and haven't taken any hints. I don't want to spoil our relationship. I'm guessing they don't read reviews, so here goes:
Buhrman is "punctual", with machines roaring at 6:45AM Thursday, rain or shine. Every Thursday.
Access: They park in front my yard. Many times with multiple trucks with trailers. The streets are plenty wide, but care must be taken when driving down the street (true of any lawn

I have used a number of different landscape companies over the years that were good, however when I switched to Buhrman Design Group, I experience an outstanding level of landscaping service. Their crews have done an exceptional job with maintaining my yard, planting, shrubs and trees. They are always on time and their work is very thorough. If you want great landscaping service, use Buhrman.

We had our paver patio installed last summer. We could not be happier! Every time we sit outside on our patio we feel we are on vacation. Marion worked with us to create a backyard haven. The crew was on time and cleaned up the worksite every day so you would never know they had been there. Thank you so much. I would not hesitate to work with Marion and Buhrman again in the future.

Be careful with this one if you are an educated gardener and proud of your planting beds. Watch them like a hawk if you employ their maintenance crew. While this company is generally good at very basic maintenance (why I've given them one star) - they're iffy on plants and customer service, in my experience. First, they butchered two of my mock orange shrubs without consulting me. They told me later that the shrubs were pruned of spent material - regardless, they should have talked with me first. This was at a point in the season that was too early for that type of hatchet job. Then, the crew ripped

Buhrman Design Group did an excellent job in both designing and implementing a large project for our HOA. Our project consisted of creating and implementing a landscape design to supplement plantings on an existing sparsely planted 600’ berm. Marion Gorski‘s creativity and vision for the berm was exceptional. He patiently listened to what we wanted while taking into account the berm’s specific needs. He created a 3 phase plan that integrated conifers, deciduous trees, mid size bushes and a variety of perennials in a beautifully balanced plan. We would definitely use them for any of our future

We used Buhrman to completely redo our backyard. From the beginning Marion was very professional and responsive. He came up with a beautiful design and shared in a story book format which was so helpful in visualizing what the yard would look like. Rod was also great to work with. He was on the job regularly making sure everything was running smoothly and was there to answer all our questions. He addressed any concerns in a very timely manner.
