The essence of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center is our dedication to serving young children and their families. We understand that parents are the primary educators and role models for their children. All of our programs support parents as they pursue social, economic, and educational achievement.
We offer two primary programs: a free Head Start program which operates from 8:15 AM to 2:30 PM daily with the option of an Extended Day and a tuition based Preschool program for ages 3-5 with some scholarships available. Our programs have received a five-star rating from First Things First, their highest rating.

Services
We have been a vital part of the Eastlake and Garfield communities since our founding in 1967. We were founded to provide education to children of low income families and have expanded to additional locations and to offer quality preschool. We have continued to grow with the help of our donors and the volunteers that make our mission possible.
At Booker T. Washington Child Development Center our emphasis is on education, responsibility, and respect for each other in a safe supportive environment. Our daily programs provide your child with developmentally appropriate academic sessions, arts and crafts, exercise, music, science, computers, and games.
Head Start is a free preschool program for children ages 3-5 (including children with disabilities). Parents must be income eligible for Head Start and live in the designated geographic area. Children and their families receive comprehensive services to meet their educational, social, health, nutritional, and emotional needs.
