I love this historical dance venue. Live big band made for a great evening of ballroom dancing on one of Central Indiana's floors.

The IRB is hands down the best venue in Indy for any event but especially weddings. I worked with Kile mainly, but had a lot of interactions with Jeff and Craig as well. Everyone was SO helpful during our planning process and amazing the day of. There truly wasn’t a single hiccup the day of our wedding and they all work so well together. I had so many guests reach out to me after our wedding commenting on the wedding and venue. Can’t recommend The Ballroom enough!

All I can say is WOW! The Indiana Roof was an absolute dream to work with - they made wedding planning fun! Jeff, Craig and Kile are incredibly patient, talented and detail-oriented. They executed every element of my reception with extreme care and tact, ensuring that my vision was carried out perfectly. You would think that they were coordinating their own wedding!

These guys/gals are ORGANIZED. I walked into each meeting and was met with checklists and options that I never would have thought of. They do not treat any detail as "too small" or "too insignificant." For them

Last night was so beautiful! My husband and I went to the Mayors inauguration ball and it was my first time at the Indiana Roof Ballroom and I was in awe of how beautiful it was. It was very spacious and the staff were very accommodating. My friend recently told me about a wedding that she went to there and she told me
How beautiful it was but it's definitely something that you have to see in person!!! Pictures don't do justice. They served food there and I'll be honest (it wasn't the best) but that's typical for wedding food. I really enjoyed the event at the Indiana

Indiana Roof Ballroom is a venerable venue for events and galas. Located at the top of the IRT building, the Ballroom has a large circular area for receptions of different sizes. There is a stage that can handle speakers and even small performances. The bar located by the entrance is large enough that it doesn't get clogged up with patrons. There aren't a ton of space outside the main reception area so it might be a tight squeeze for exhibits and such.

The food options (at least at my last event) were pretty good. It was a self-serve type of dinner and there were several stations with

I've been to a few events here including a wedding, company events, dinners, and award banquets. I have always had a great time at the events. It has a nice large floor - the ballroom - that can be used with or without tables set up. The second floor feels like walking down a street of an Italian villa.

It is rather dark and there are no windows. This can cause challenges with photography.

All in all, it's a good place for large crowds.

I am giving 4 stars because of the chef and manager who went out of their way.

My husband and I were here for a work event. I have many food sensitivities and informed the coordinator of this. She told me they cannot accommodate everyone's specifications and that I could choose from a vegetarian or gluten-free option if I wanted. None of these options worked for me, but I chose gluten-free anyways.

We had a waitress who must have been new and she was very flustered. I requested my salad plain, but she still brought it with everything that I cannot eat. I requested again, and she brought

We held our daughter's wedding at the Roof in June of 2017. Nothing short of amazing atmosphere, stellar service, and unmatched professionalism. We looked at several venues for our event of 250 and none compared. Planning process was handled beautifully, and we were blown away by the end result. We've never experienced meal and beverage service at this level. We've been to many weddings at which one side is done with their meal while the other is just getting their salad, and long lines at the bar. The Roof has professional meal and beverage service down to a science. Everyone served

This a great venue if you plan on having an event. There is plenty of space for round tables and the sound system works very well - no feedback. There was also a great camera system that was displayed on two large display screens that sat on the sides of the stage to capture the entire performance. This was good when the performance went off in different areas of the area.

Things to Know:
1. Parking can get a little questionable, unless you get there early enough to park down the street in front of the government building at a metered spot. Unless you have the extra money to valet it probably

Awesome venue with unqiue decor and lots of space. I went to an event last night that has well over 600 guests and we had pleny of room. Very large bar and well staffed. Food was decent considering 600 guests with plated dinners. Chocolate brownie dessert was awesome!!! Acquostics were also impressive for such a large site and thier were several speakers last night and all were heard loud and clear throught the space.

I attended the Indiana Roof Ballroom for a Good Friday event. There were hundreds of people in attendance. So the space was large and there were lots of tables but things did not seem too cramped.

I am giving the IRB 5 stars because of their AMAZING service and their wonderful food! The waiters introduced their names, told us what we were having for breakfast, and politely asked if there were any allergies... how considerate! They were professional and seemed they really enjoyed their time serving our table.

I did not even have to ask for anything to drink, before I even thought about it, my

To update my previous review of the Indiana Roof Ballroom I have to first say if we were to get married again, we would want to do it at the roof. I was not only the groom at this wedding but have been in the industry 13 years as a wedding DJ, and my wife has been in corporate event planning and management since 2008.

The "day of" service from the IRB was second to none. Jeff, Johnny and Rebecca were the three people who took care of the bride and groom (me) and the head table. Literally anything we needed they provided. They knew our favorite drinks and even provided me a spirit that

We held a work event here for over 100 foodservice professionals who were gushing over the unique room, excellent meal and accommodating staff. In addition, the catering staff worked with three food manufacturers to help prepare and feature their products during the cocktail hour. We couldn't have been more happy with our experience here, especially since we were having to arrange it all from Minneapolis.

My parents drove 3 hours to look at prospective venues for my wedding. We arrived and no one offered to assist us, so we just stood around for 5 minutes before I saw 3 girls holding clipboards and talking. I approached them and they didn't acknowledge me, so I had to interrupt and ask for help. They pointed me toward a girl who they said could help I approached this woman who, again, ignored me. After I yet again butted in, she informed me that she doesn't know who can help me. At this point, I'm standing around with my fiance and my parents and we're about to leave when

I'm just gonna review the space. I friggin LOVE it. Stepping into the past, it prompted my imagination--what kind of event would I want to see here? Why haven't I been here before? How many people do I know whose grandparents fell in love or danced on that dance floor? Seems like we all overuse the term hidden gem, but this one is the real deal. 6th floor of the old Indiana Theatre and you'd never have a clue about this little magical place from the outside. Of course, the exterior is beautiful, but you could easily just think it's all theatre related in there....nope! Extra

Such a cool space! I've been to the ballroom for 3 or 4 events. The twinkling lights are a pretty cool effect. I'm not sure if they have an in-house caterer but the food has always been good. Bathrooms can be a bit tricky to find.

This is just an odd place.

It's so odd, it's cool.

It feels like a cheap Mexican restaurant from the 1970's, but when we are here for the Snakepit Ball, it feels like the perfect venue.

I would be cool with all future cool events being held here.

Where do I begin? ... i guess I'll talk about one thing at a time ... the management/personnel .... (lack of) autonomy for your own wedding ... cookie cutter facilities that make every wedding there very similar (although a nice facility) ..... a business that cares only about the bottom line and not their clients.

#1) Antonia: this is your wedding planner from your worst nightmare that you cannot get rid of. She not only is hostile to even the bride/groom and family, but she will try to take over and dictate how the wedding will go. Abrasive personality that will run your wedding like a

It looks very nice. The decor has an interest old Havana type feel. The venue is nice and large to accommodate a very large crowd.

We went here for Barrister's Ball last night and it was a very nice evening! Most importantly there is a large bar right outside the floor where all the law students can easily access drinks without a long line. (Very important aspect of the night for law students)

Overall, nice venue. I recommend!
