At Quist Law Firm, PLLC, I believe that people file for divorce or proceed with a custody issue in order to improve things for their families - not to escalate the conflict. The collaborative process enables couples who have decided to separate or end their marriage to work with their lawyers and, on occasion, other family professionals in order to avoid the uncertain outcome of court and to achieve a settlement that best meets the specific needs of both parties and their children without the underlying threat of litigation.
Mediation is a voluntary, out-of-court method of resolving disputes or conflict between two or more parties. It is cheaper, quicker and easier than a litigated divorce. In mediation, a third party, the mediator, helps you negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement. Mediation can be done with or without attorneys.
I believe that your lawyer's first job should be to respond effectively to your family's needs - not react to specific situations that may cause you concern. I have helped hundreds of people get through the divorce process as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. Like any legal matter involving the courts, divorce isn't always clean and easy.

Courtney was there when I needed her most. During what ended up being a high conflict collaborative divorce Courtney stepped up to the plate. Her communication was impeccable. During a crisis (which there were many) she always had a prompt response and dealt with the issue at hand. I felt her genuine compassion for the children and I.
