Fremont Shotokan Karate (FSK) is located off Central Avenue in Fremont on Centralmont Place. We are in a 4400 square foot space with 3000 sq.ft. Karate instructors at FSK are dedicated to the teaching and practice of Shotokan karate. All senior Instructors hold at least a 5th degree black belt (Godan) and have from 25 to 36 years of experience in the martial arts.

Our mission is to train students in karate, which is a highly effective self-defense system that also enhances emotional self-control; improves concentration skills; increases physical and mental fitness; and provides stress reduction and increased confidence. We are dedicated to teaching traditional Shotokan karate, which is one of the most effective and popular martial arts in the world.
Although the ancient origins of karate are hard to pin down, we do know that the techniques used in karate today were developed by many ancient martial artist. According to legend, Daruma (also known as Bodhidharma) was a Buddhist monk who travelled from India to China to teach Buddhism in the 5th or 6th century.
