Mr. Bayless established the law firm at its present location in the heart of Cleveland, Texas in 1999 to serve the growing needs of Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Polk, and the surrounding counties in East Texas. Representing clients from all walks of life in every imaginable situation is the most gratifying experience any attorney can hope for.
To achieve that reward requires not only a diligent, professional approach to the practice of law, but prompt personal attention to the precise needs of each client, and to the specific details of his or her case at a reasonable cost.

Dan Bayless worked his way through college and law school at the University of Houston while employed as an electronic switching equipment technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He served with the United States Army in VietNam in 1969-1970, and is the father of three grown children. They attend the Baptist Church.
There are two basic types of adoption in Texas. The most common is the step-parent adoption, where a step-parent is being legally substituted for a biological parent. The other type of adoption involves the replacement of both parents. In either case, the parental rights and duties of the departing parent must be terminated by the court as a preliminary part of the adoption process.
The first rule of criminal defense is to know and use the rights guaranteed to the defendant by the Constitutions of Texas and the United States. The police have a very difficult, and occasionally dangerous job to do in protecting the public from criminal conduct, and most are professionals answering a noble calling.
DWI is the criminal offense of Driving While Intoxicated, which is defined as operating a motorized vehicle in a public place with a blood-alcohol concentration in excess of 0.8%. DUI is less specific, meaning that the defendant is accused of being under the influence of some intoxicating substance, usually an illegal drug.
Estate planning starts with the last will and testament. A common myth is that if I sign my will, I'll die. The unfortunate reality is that we are all mortal, we will all die some day, and if we don't sign a will of our own choosing, the State of Texas has one for us, and we may not like what it does.

These are some great people to do business. Mr Bayless is a real down to earth attorney and knows his business well. He listens to what your needs are and tells you what his firm can do for you. I have been doing business with Mr Bayless for 6 years. I live in west Houston and his office is in Cleveland Texas. Now does that tell you how good he is. If you have a legal problem or a legal business that needs to be taken care of . Give them a call. You won't go wrong.

Mr Bayless is a very kind man... his office staff is extremely helpful and nice.. I felt like I was part of the Bayless family... Mr Bayless did my child custody case and I had a mother’s worst fears on the line and he eased all of my fears and made sure my child was safe... He also charged very fairly and he is extremely honest. I highly recommend!! Thank you Mr Bayless!!!!!

Dan is an absolute lifesaver. He and his staff went above and beyond in handling an emotionally charged child support case for my husband and I. His rates are fair and he made possible a pleasant ending to a horrible time for us. Our family is on much better ground because of his representation. Thank you.
