I have been in the counseling profession for over 33 years, first as a school counselor and later as a clinician in a mental health agency. For the past six years, I have been in private practice in Mid City of New Orleans. Working in a variety of settings has given me great insight into many facets of life and the challenges it can present.
During our initial meeting we will discuss your specific areas of concern as well as assess if we are the right client/therapist fit. From here, we will be able to create your personalize treatment plan and discuss how it can best work into your day-to-day life. I work with a range of clients that present a variety of unique circumstances.
Depending on your present situation and your reasons for seeking help, there are many benefits to therapy. If you are seeking diagnosis or treatment for a mental illness, therapy can help you better manage your symptoms, outbreaks, and triggers. It can also offer you increased coping skills and open your eyes to new ways of dealing with situations that you may not have been aware of before.

Renee is down to earth and supportive. She is an African American therapist with extensive experience with both children and adults, so she understands trauma wounds and mental health at many life stages and how they can impact you and present themselves in your current behaviors. She is not a therapist who will have you sit and talk about your past over and over. She will work on your today and tomorrow and then tackle your yesterday’s when it is necessary and the right time. She’s honest and to the point so don’t expect her to appease your ego because that is not how you get healed. She
