The roots of Grandmaster Yin's Kung Fu in Milwaukee can be traced back to as early as 1972. In 1972, a student of Grandmaster Yin's, Hwang Shie-Ming, was completing his studies at a local University and began teaching Chinese martial arts in the area. Classes were held in various locations and over the next 6 years his school began to grow.
At the Chinese Kung Fu Center, we carry on the teaching traditions of Grandmaster Chian Ho Yin by encouraging students to better their minds and spirits while also training their bodies. We believe the arts of Northern Style Shao Lin Kung Fu and Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan are not merely forms of physical exercise and conditioning, but a means by which students develop greater self-awareness, discipline and respect for themselves and others.
Grandmaster Yin joined the Chinese Army as a young man and eventually advanced to the rank of general. He was shot three times in battle but continued leading his men. Grandmaster Yin's martial arts skills were recognized by Army leadership and soon he began training others. When Communists took over mainland China, Grandmaster Yin moved to Taiwan, where he opened a kindergarten and his first kung fu school.
In addition to our regular curriculum listed below, we also offer ongoing Tai Chi classes and ten specialty classes/forms including Ba Gua, Hsing I, Chin Na, Saber, Double Saber, Sun Moon Rings, Iron Fan, Spear, Sword, Double Sword, and Guan Dao. Beginning level consists of 3 levels of basic training and 7 forms.
The general term "kung fu" encompasses both Northern Shao Lin, the rapid, powerful style popularized in the movies, and Tai Chi Chuan, the slower and more gentle style. Our founder, Grandmaster Chian Ho Yin, taught his students both Northern Shao Lin, an "external, " or "hard" style, and Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan, a soft, internal style.

I have been a tai chi student here for at least four years and am enjoying every moment of it! The head instructor, Sifu Jeff, is great and tailors the classes according to the student's skill level. Not only that, he is very patient and encourages everybody to do their best in each class. I highly recommend this place!

Ridiculous place! The instructors Jeff and Andy don't know kung fu very well and have no good skills. They are not qualified Si Fu instructors and they haven't even achieved a black belt in the past. Their past training and lineage is totally questionable. Yet they pretend to teach. I don't recommend this place. Better stay away from a bad school like that.

This school is the best around and offers the most effective instruction in town. There is no place that comes as close to true traditional kung fu as the Chinese Kung Fu Center. Instructors here are top notch and care about the quality of their kung fu classes. The style practiced here is Northern Shaolin and unlike other schools in the area, the instructor actually trained in person with his Sifu, Yin Chian Ho. This adds to the legitimacy and authenticity of this unparalleled kung fu academy. Other schools are mere fad schools that 'augment' their atmosphere by having caucasian instructors pretending

This self claimed super-super-excellent school is a joke. I was there in 2002 when it opened and their self claimed super-super-excellent 'traditional' shaolin program failed to amaze me. As a matter of fact, the instructors there are not certified Shi Fu's and I have no problem to understand why many local martial artists consider this school a freak joke.

I am a student at the CKFC, though I've not been there for an extremely long time and can provide a non-biased view.
Potential students may be discouraged at first because the head instructor, Jeff, is not a certified "Sifu". To them I say: so what? His martial arts experience still probably vastly outweighs your own, so there are things that you can learn from him. In any other martial art, what difference is there in learning from a black belt or a brown belt? The only important factor is that the instructor knows what they are doing and are proficient in their art, which Jeff and the other
