When I was 10, I told my parents I wanted to be a counselor. This occured after a visit to my uncle's office, a counselor, who had the most exciting office I had ever seen. There were bookshelves with games, a comfortable couch, and a large bowl of candy on the coffee table. I was hooked. Although my reasons for wanting to be a counselor have changed over the years, my passion for counseling has remained.
In 2009, my wife and I moved from Northwestern Ohio, where I had served as a staff pastor for 5 years, to pursue my dream of becoming a counselor. After completing the coursework for my Masters Degree in 2010, I began seeing clients at a faith based, non-profit counseling center in Franklin TN. In 2011, I opened my private practice, working with individuals, couples, and families.

I believe that anger is the most powerful emotion we have. Anger is the emotion that lets us know that something matters to us and gives us the engergy to make change occur. In many ways anger is like gasoline. Gasoline can be very dangerous when lit, if not properly contained. It has the power to destory the things we care most for.
Anxiety takes us away from what is true and makes us fretful, distrustful, impulsive, and controlling. In anxiety we rob ourselves of daily living and its experience. Instead, we try to control our future in order to prevent the recurrence of painful past experiences. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly 40 million Americans (about 18%) suffer from an anxiety related disorder earch year.
Marriage can be hard. For many, it becomes the most difficult relationshp they ever experience. Once a negative interaction cycle takes over, it has the power to make you feel like enemies, sucking all of the good out of the relationship. However, it doesn't have to be that way. I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples.
To date, the porn industry has become the most profitable industry in the world, grossing over 100 billion dollars per year. This is more than the annual revenues of Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, Apple, and Netflix combined. Further more, affairs and other compulsive sexual behaviors are more common than ever.
Clients are free to cancel previously scheduled sessions provided 24 hours notice has been given. Otherwise, I charged for a missed or dropped appointment at the last minute. I do not take insurance, but can provide an invoice with codes that would make filing for yourself run more smoothly. Insurance companies require a diagnosis before reimbursing.

My fiancé and I went to Noah for couples / premarital counseling. Neither of us had ever gone to therapy, so we were pretty timid and almost of the mindset that we would only go once just to say we did it. But after our first session with Noah, the value of our time with him was so evident in our daily interactions that we started scheduling regular sessions. Noah is crazy perceptive and insightful. He helped us add a lot of tools to our belts that make us feel like we can take on anything! Thank you Noah!

I have worked with Noah for a number of years and have found him to be a truly gifted counselor who is warm and engaging. I refer many clients to him and hear back that they have really felt helped by him. He is able to connect with the heart of the client’s struggle to help them create important strides in healing and recovery. I know you will find him to be a wonderful resource as a counselor.

Noah Zapf is incredible at what he does. He is extremely gifted in counseling and did a great job with my treatment of EMDR. Because of Noah, my family and I are forever changed for the better and I am eternally grateful. Worth every single penny. If you're thinking of starting therapy with Noah, JUST DO IT. You'll be glad you did!
