We strive to build forever families through infant, special needs, and independent adoption. Our goal is to make professional Christian counseling as accessible to as many people as possible. No person on the grounds of race, color, national origin, disability, age, religion or sex shall be excluded from participation in, or be denied benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination of services, programs, employment provided by AGAPE and its contracted agencies except as is allowed by federal law.
Services
In 1966 the concern for orphaned children stuck in institutionalized orphanages weighed heavily on the heart of Howard Justiss. These children had no way to experience a home or family. Justiss, along with others at the Otter Creek Church of Christ, began looking for a compassionate and professional solution to the problem.
AGAPE embraces people in need, people who often have nowhere else to turn. From addiction to broken families, mental illness to spiritual despair, neglect to abuse, our professional therapists, social workers, and support staff receive with open arms those who cry out. AGAPE provides counseling, crisis support, adoption and foster care services, pregnancy-maternity care, emergency domestic violence shelter, and court advocacy assistance.
Tennessee State Law requires that anyone who adopts a child must have an approved adoptive home study. When birth mothers and adoptive parents work together in privately arranged adoptions, the adoptive home study must be presented to the court so that the adoptive couple can be named as guardian of the child when surrenders of parental rights are completed.
Being a parent can be hard - even on the best of days - but what happens if you find yourself the middle of a crisis?. You may need to take care of your problems before you care for your children, and you may not have family or friends who can meet your children's needs for an extended period of time.
Following completion of the Inquiry Form, we will contact you to discuss minimum requirements and answer questions. Prospective foster parents must attend a required Informational Meeting and complete the self-assessment. If the prospective foster family is still interested, they must complete TN-KEY pre-service training.

The reception staff was very unfriendly. They give you dirty looks when you walk in the door.
The "therapist" they assigned me was IMMENSELY incompetent. He would stare off into space, not even listening. I called him out on it and asked, "Where'd you go? Where is your mind right now." He had the nerve to say, "Oh, thank you for noticing." Then literally spent the entire session talking about himself and his ADD. Didn't talk about my problems at all!
Then he scheduled the next appointment. I showed up the next week for that appointment, and he had someone else in my time slot! I showed the hateful

Their process & how people spoke to me left me feeling uncomfortable. 3 separate employees tried setting me up with a counselor who wouldn't accept my insurance. The last person I spoke to even went as far as saying, "it would only cost you $10 per session to see someone without using your insurance". I'm not sure why there were so persistent about this, especially knowing I wanted to use BCBS.
Also, I didn't feel like any of the office staff were particularly friendly. They did find ONE counselor who was accepting patients using insurance - which they acted like they were doing me a favor? I
