Services
Aikido Ai has an outstanding team of dedicated instructors who love to help students succeed and improve themselves. Our teachers offer guidance and support with patience and light-hearted good humor. Our dojo's culture creates an environment where everyone is respected for what they've achieved and encouraged in their practice.
This year, our first VIRTUAL Mt. Baldy Retreat brings the trainings that we study on the mountain retreat to the comfort of your home! A one-day online event, this Mt. Baldy Retreat will give you a spot in the front of the class as master instructors share with you the energy and techniques in meditation, qigong, tai chi and aikido.
Our special events help enrich our students' training, build relationships with family and friends, and connect with the greater Whittier area community. Our seminars reach out to martial artists throughout Southern California and often beyond. Some folks will participate in the Zoom presentation from the comfort of their own homes and computers, laptops, or tablets.
In addition to our core classes, Aikido Ai presents special workshops, seminars, and retreats for unique training opportunities. Sign up for our newsletters to get advanced information on holidays, changes in class schedules, and other events. Park & Rec Kids' Aikido students attend one day a week, either Tuesday or Friday, as indicated in Whittier Community catalog.

I was in the L.A. area for a month vacationing and wanted to try Tai Chi. I gave Sensei Mc Gouirk a call, and the next day he responded with class times and instructor's name. Ms. Suzette teaches Tai Chi. As with any martial art, it looks easier than it is. Ms. Suzette is patient with her students, breaking down the moves so you can understand how they go. She gently corrects any mistakes. You can instantly tell from your first class that she loves the art, as well as her students. Everyone was also very friendly and welcoming. Although I was not taking Akiedo, Sensei made a point to meet and welcome
