Go here for sure! The service is wonderful and the decor is lovely. To top this off, the food is beyond excellent and the mixed drinks too. The owner came to our table and introduced himself. I felt like I was eating with my family. In the summer, they have a lovely outdoor space. I highly recommend eating here. You will not be disappointed.

Quietly one of the best Italian restaurants in the oak park/forest park/elm wood park area...and there are ton of excellent places. The owner is usually on premises, checking on your table, the ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the food is top notch, esp the homemade pasta. Don't miss the tiramisu. Multo bene

Well it's been a while since I've been to Il Vicolo Trattoria. Especially since before covid times. I usually go to Jim and Pete's at Elmwood Park or la Villa in North side of Chicago by Pulaski and Addison but haven't been here for awhile since 2016 and had to stop and dine for lunch here. Food is still so fresh and great here they started off giving you fresh hot semi crunchy bread with oil and cheese. My husband and I love this restaurant! The food and service is always perfect and they have amazing GF options. One of our favs in oak park.

Went for a friends birthday dinner, it was delicious! The whole staff had given us top tier customer service. One of my favorite things is their olive oil with warm bread they bring to your table when you arrive. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the potatoes.. creamy, garlicky, perfect temperature.

I have been here on 2 different occasions and hope to never go back. They seem to like to char food here instead of season it. If you think charring is a seasoning then this place is for you. Overcooked calamari and steak.

But props for the clean fish tanks.

We have been going here on dates for years and never had a bad experience. Their mixed drinks are outstanding and they do a great job of accommodating my gluten free fiancé. Very friendly staff too.

Really enjoyed our evening out here. They are reservation only, so plan ahead!

The outside eating area was perfect for us as we are still a little wary still of enclosed areas without masks.

Good wine selection and the waiters provided us with an excellent recommendation! We had minestrone, Italian sausage, lasagna, and prosciutto stuffed chicken. Delicious. We'll be back!

Service was very good the owner came to the table to introduce himself and help deliver the meals. It's a nice rustic environment one could even say it has a romantic feel to the place. My steak was good and spinach on the side was good as well, however the most delicious item was a beautiful round (looked like a cinbun) fried mashed potatoes with a gravy stuffing. It was amazing!! That alone made my meal!!

Loved this restaurant. My wife and I were there with friends and had a great time. Appetizers were excellent, the main courses were awesome and the atmosphere was very warm and intimate. The service was excellent, as well. Would definitely go there again.

This place is very nice, especially the outdoor "alley" area. Getting right to the food....I had the margherita pizza.....I didn't care for it. The very thin crust was super burned and basically had a bitter taste....the tomato sauce or whatever it was topped with was not that great and basically very soggy and oily overall....I couldn't eat the pizza. Same deal with the bread they brought out, it had an unpleasant flavor due to its burnt edges. I don't get that whole burnt pizza deal...I just don't care for its flavor. I have been their on multiple occasions. Every time the waiters are very attentive and the food is simple amazing. The owner Veto is a very personable and knows how to run a successful business. I recommend it to anyone at any time you are in the area. GREAT PLACE and STAFF.

It is a nice place with a great selection of food and excellent service. We like their salads and soups. They also have a nice outdoor sitting area.

This is the best Italian restaurant I have tried in Chicago. Out of all places.. in Oak Park. The drinks, the food. I have been here every week in a row for a month and I plan to continue. Exceptional - Robert is an incredible host, waiter, bartender, etc.

Have been going here for about 5 years and I have to say that is absolutely the best place for fresh pasta in Oak Park. The staff are great especially the owner very attentive. I have never ordered anything off the menu besides calamari. Everything I order is something off the menu and never have they denied my request always have made my meal.

I haven't been to il Vicolo for quite some time. My family dined there on Saturday evening to celebrate my dad's first heavenly birthday. We sat on the beautifully-shaded large patio. Our server was Roberto and he was friendly and provided great service. I appreciated that he was masked while serving us since the Covid numbers are on the rise again. I was dining in for my first time Friday 7/16/21 early afternoon and noticed such excellent management and staff!, I have been disappointed lately as to how the management at many restaurants has been, very poor but what I witnessed this afternoon was complete professionalism and great staff! From the young man at the the bar paying attention to his staff and customers, to the hostess and the waiters that had such a pleasant disposition, All ensuring everything was ready for the Friday night rush, I loved it! Dinner there yesterday. Wait staff was good but the food was mediocre, the menu not very extensive and it was expensive.

Will not go again, better options in the area.......

Food is phenomenal!! The calamari was outstanding!!! They even have panna cotta!! Great outdoor seating!!!

A wonderful outdoor dining experience. A very attentive and helpful staff and the owner usually drops by to chat. Staff is fully masked.
The special of squid ink pasta with mussels, shrimp, tomatoes and crab was deliciously prepared with a delicate sauce. The lobster ravioli was equally tasty.

Food was excellent. All the serving staff was pleasant. Prices reasonable. Restaurant was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend!

Tasty food , quick attentive service and very reasonable priced wine list. Soup was delightful. Pizza was a bit burnt but the toppings - cheese- were well put together and tasty. I would try the pizza again.

My mom has limited mobility and the wait staff was very helpful with the door , helping her with naviating the restaurant, and finding the table.

The seafood risotto I had was great, I loved the tomato in the risotto. Wish the lobster was fresher though. The potato pizza was something new to me but surprisingly delicious. The cannoli was OK, I had better one before. Overall, I liked the food and the service was great. I would come back again and recommend to friends and family.
