Services
A funeral or memorial is a customary way to recognize death and its finality. Funerals are held for the living to show respect for the dead and to help survivors begin the grief process. They also give mourners a chance to share stories, create memories, fulfill religious beliefs & customs, participate in a support system, and gather at a peaceful place during a time of confusion and uncertainty.
Holding a funeral or memorial service for your loved one is a positive first step in the grieving process. Family members and friends get a chance to say their goodbyes, and at the same time, they get to share strong feelings with one another. In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance.

Donald Trimble Mortuary Did My Mothers Cremation/Viewing (Sat Dec 4,2021) The Only Negative Aspect I Encountered Due To Me Requesting To Be Present Once They Do My Mother’s Cremation.
However I Realize The Funeral Director (YJones)Had Me Sign Off On A Form Which Stated No One To Be Present-Being In My State Of Mind It Would Have Made Sense To Be Certain (By Verbally Confirming)That Person Does Or Doesn’t Want To Be Present-I Was Livid Because Of This And To Add Insult To The Circumstances It Shouldn’t Take Two Months To Receive The Death Certificate As Of This Date Still No Death Certificate

My family used this funeral home 11 years ago when my aunt passed and we had a great experience. That memory stuck in my head so when my mother died recently, I went back. I’m very easy to please so my only and biggest complaint is the 6 death certificates I paid for. I was told it would take 7-10 business days, but now that has turned into 4-5 weeks. Being honest upfront goes a long way and I didn’t get that honesty as I’m still waiting....I have things I need to take care of on behalf of my mother and can’t bc I’m still waiting. Also they knew my mom was tagged as a covid patient before

Wow!! Where to begin. I'm truly pleased with how the made my Auntie Old temple. I can't take that from them....BUT..the Death Certificate is a whole other Ball Game. No disrespect to the young lady over that department, but just to be clear let it be known and make the grieving aware that out of the 3 Death Certificate ordered the family will only receive One. Because trust and believe you will be charged for it and they will keep what they need to get there's. As Black People we must start treating each other better. We deal with enough from other races than to expect and deal with mistreatment

My father was taken to Donald Trimble Mortuary for his last remains. My family and I were very happy and please with the arrangements. The staff were passionate and knowledgeable. The day of the funeral, the weather was very rainy and cold. I was extremely impressed with the results of the way they handled it. I will use them again if needed.

They were very compassionate and caring in my family’s time of extreme grief and confusion. We had no idea how to go about planning a funeral as it was our first death that close to us. Our consultant helped us from the viewing, funeral, obituary, order of service to transportation. Donald Trimble funeral home and mortuary made the worst day of our family’s lives bearable because they literally held our hand as we cried and walked us through the entire process and worked with our budget to make sure we were able to have a memorable home going for our mother and.for that I thank them. I don’t

I attended a veiwing here for my good friend Asia and everything was very nice. There was ALOT OF US and the staff was still nice and accomidating. This was on a Sunday so besides us the traffic was quiet. There was 3 young ladies directing traffic, sanitizing (which is a plus) and keeping a safe number of people at 1 time in the room. They also did not allow photos and MADE SURE which is also a plus because my friend wouldn't have wanted that. Thank you Donald Trimble.

I’m not sure how much good it will do but here goes! Mr. Donald Trimble was an icon and staple not only in Decatur but the entire metropolitan area! His daughter has definitely not taken his dream to the next level. To say that he had the finest mortuary in the city is an understatement. Sadly, almost 20 years later, that is no longer the case. The bright spot of this place is the exterior, the landscape is always neat and when the fountain is operational it’s very soothing. On to the interior; the carpet has seen better days and is beyond cleaning, the walls are a mixture of dirt and dust
