You could say our roots go back over 50 years. Our founding father was Dr. Lawrence Nelson. In 1964 he returned home after medical school to start a family practice on Hamner Avenue. From those small beginnings he grew into a larger office with multiple providers. Eventually Dr. Lawrence retired and was succeeded by his son Dr. Robert Nelson.
Over the years since, Citrus Valley Medical Associates has taken shape. We now have multiple offices, along with more doctors and more caregivers. As we've grown, our goals have remained unchanged: help our patients live long and live healthy. We believe we are part of this community, and this community is, and always will be a part of us.

Services
Please feel free to contact any of our locations to see how we might exceed your health care expectations. If you have kids, or are soon expecting, we have some people you need to meet. Our pediatrics team is kid friendly and dedicated to making your child's experience with us a happy and healthy one.
If you ever need to be hospitalized, our Transitional Care Team will keep you on the road to recovery. For patients with serious or complicated conditions, we'll have our LVN visit you in the hospital. We'll also meet with your family, and help coordinate all of your post discharge needs, from understanding your medications to getting you a follow up appointment as soon as the next day.
We've been around for over 40 years, and we know when it comes to your health, the most important contact you'll have is with your primary care provider. So we've created a diverse family of health care professionals that will consistently be here when you need them. If you have a prefered provider, keep them.
Medicare is a health insurance program for people age 65 or older. People under age 65 with certain disabilities may also qualify and people of all ages with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant) qualify for Medicare.
You don't have to enroll in Medicare if you already have a health care plan but once you're Medicare eligible, it's a good idea to compare your current health insurance policy against a Medicare health plan.Sometimes the costs are lower and coverage is the same or better than your employer's coverage.

There have been a lot of changes in the healthcare industry lately. One of the changes is the large increase in the patient's financial responsibility. We are now requiring a credit card to be held "on file" through a offsite, encrypted payment gateway for all patients whose insurance plan has a deductible and/or co-insurance.
