Marion is a quiet residential community in Southern Illinois. Proud to be family owned and operated, Blue Funeral Homes serve the people of Marion, Goreville, Creal Springs, and Pittsburg. Originally known as The Meredith Funeral Home, the home came under the ownership of Monte Blue in 1999. In late summer 2002, the name was changed to Blue Funeral Home.
The Marion location is a full-service, two-chapel building with ample parking and an on-site crematory. After an extensive remodeling project, the facility is refreshed and more functional, having tripled the size of the chapel on the inside, and made many exterior improvements including the large parking lot.

Services
As you participate in the planning of the funeral service, you help to create a meaningful experience for everyone. There are basic decisions to make concerning what service you have envisioned for your loved one. The Blue Funeral Home's offer complete service packages whether a family chooses a traditional service or cremation that make each funeral as unique as the individual.
At Blue Funeral Homes, we want to be there when you need us most. We conveniently offer two locations to better serve you. Both facilities offer beautiful and spacious chapels for funeral and memorial ceremonies and are totally handicap accessible. We invite you to take a personal tour of our facilities and discuss your needs with a member of our dedicated staff.
The Full or Traditional service is a funeral service that consists of a visitation for family and friends at our funeral home or at a church. Traditionally visitations are held the night before the funeral service but you may choose to hold it the day of the service. Following the funeral service a committal service may then be held at the cemetery of your choice.
Cremation does not limit, but in fact increases the options that are available to you. The options for ceremonies prior to or following the cremation can include the selection of a rental or cremation casket or an urn, visitation with the body present or a memorial service where the urn is the focal point.
Each of our services can be customized to meet a family's specific need or wish. We encourage individuals to create a service that reflects a personalized tribute. Photographs, keepsakes, special accomplishments, etc. can be incorporated into the service to make it more meaningful. You tell us what it is that made your loved one so special and we'll give you ideas for personalizing the service.

Blue Funeral Home in Marion IL. is amazing!!!!
Justin made us feel welcome and showed true compassion from the time we met him until the funeral was over. He absolutely took great care of my
brother and assisted us in making the arrangements.
Justin made the whole process so easy and was there for us in whatever we needed, he didn’t miss a beat and was on point. This was our first time making funeral arrangements and I must say we were truly happy with the results. A big thanks to Justin and Blue Funeral Homes❤️❤️❤️
