How does Greenville Martial Art Center benefit my child? Through martial arts your child grows both mentally and physically. Mentally, attention and discipline are developed along with physical fitness from being active in a structured setting multiple times per week. All around improvement is seen in kids while they are simply having fun and making new lifetime friends in martial arts class.
Taekwon-Do is an ancient Korean martial art. Many people practice Taekwon-Do for its self-defense benefits, but it is also an art; it is studied and appreciated for its beauty and grace of movement. The spiritual aspect of Taekwon-Do is found in its philosophy of self-restraint, kindness, and humility.
Hapkido is a Korean Martial Art of self-defence and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Many other martial arts are "hard" - they rely on physical power and are offense oriented. Hapkido is "soft" and defensive, emphasizing throws, joint locks, and pressure point techniques. Hapkido minimizes injuries with techniques that completely subdue the opponent.
Our Little Tigers classes are designed for kids ages 4-6 years old. Kids at this age need special attention and instruction to learn Martial Arts as effectively as possible. These classes teach kids the basics and fundamentals they need in a fun and exciting environment. As a parent you know a fun environment makes learning a lot easier for kids.
Our night program open to youth, adults, and families features two different martial art styles: Taekwon-do and Hapkido. They each have their own distinct curriculum and ranking system. Hapkido is a Korean martial art which includes strikes, forms, and practical self-defense techniques. Hapkido teaches a unique set of main skills to subdue and escape an opponent through joint locks and throws.

We love Master Chris. Our child is shy butterfly. But when she's with master Chris, she is a completely different person. She is outgoing and excited to be there. Waiting for our son to get a little older so he can join his sister.
We love the fact that they can pick our kiddo from school everyday.

Two years ago I brought my 4 year old son to Greenville Martial Art Center to try out their Taekwon-do Little Tigers program to learn discipline, respect, self confidence, and self control. He was very shy, didn't have a lot of self confidence, and struggled with expressing himself positively. Since then he has grown into being a kind 6 year old who knows the value of hard work, the importance of listing and obeying his parents and instructors (also other adults in charge, like his first grade teacher!), being aware of his own actions (GMAC is a NO BULLY supporter and teacher), and how to

See Kai's review? That's one of the reasons why we're so satisfied with Master Andy's taekwondo classes. There's no room for entitlement, no participation awards. Our sons have been doing TKD for about two years (one is blue, the other is a green belt) and they love it. It's great to watch them grow both mentally and physically. If you look for a school serious about martial arts, but still fun, that's your place. It's the real deal.

I just took a Hapkido class with my seven-year old son, and we both loved it and have decide to join. We learned several defense techniques in the first class, and my son could already demonstrate them to my wife when we returned home.
The instructors were excellent with teaching both me and my son. This is a great way to get exercise, while having fun and learning valuable defense techniques. It is good for all ages, and is a good way to build confidence for kids.

I have been taking Hapkido from Mr. and Mrs. Key for over three years now, and am extremely happy with the experience! The practicality of Hapkido is awesome, and the workout is an added benefit! The instructors take a vested interest in all of their students, and make sure that they not only learn the skills and discipline, but that they understand why and how everything is done and taught the way it is. Highly, highly recommend!!
