In the years prior to starting his business, Charlie had acquired a good deal of oil field related insurance knowledge while he was a field representative for two different insurance companies that wrote oil field related business.
While regularly calling independent insurance agents here in Lindsay, Charlie developed an appreciation for the town and its people and realized that the experience he had acquired would be beneficial if he were to strike out on his own.So, he borrowed $1,500 from a friend near his hometown in Tonganoxie, Kansas and bought a manual Underwood typewriter (which is still in the office) and opened shop.
