Services
Our goal isn't to force you into losing weight or looking a certain way, those are by-products of our main goal; effort. Effort in the gym translates better to life than 6-pack abs or a 500 pound deadlift. Effort in the gym will help you apply effort in business, relationships, and life itself. We've helped hundreds of people lose thousands of combined pounds while also being able to lift heavier and run faster, all while chasing effort.
Our kids program will focus on helping kids have fun while learning coordination, balance, and agility. They will go through a 60 minute class and constantly be moving! This program is for 13 and under. Older kids will have an opportunity to join our adult classes based on ability. This program is for those who are playing a sport in school, wanting to get prepared before college, or wanting an increase in overall strength and conditioning.
Lifting weights, loud music, and shirtless people isn't for everyone - and that's ok! Being healthy and physically fit is for everyone and we are proud to announce Dissent Boot Camp! This high energy class is led by Mychelle Smith - an Elite level Spartan Racer and fitness enthusiast! Stop working out in parking lots in the Texas heat - our classes are held indoors, we have an area for your kids, and we have showers!
Yes! Nutrition clients will meet with their trainer 1x a week for 30 minutes for 4 weeks depending on fitness goals. They will help you implement behavior changes and take into account your sleep and mood for whole wellness. We are also a pick up spot for Balanced Meals, a meal prep company that will help you reach your goals and cook for you!
Is to find the approach that works for you. No restrictive diets or counting calories, unless that's what you want! The best diet is the one that you can stick to. We work with our clients to reach their goals instead of forcing them into a pattern that is unsustainable and ultimately in vain. This is not your type gym you go workout and go home it's more than that. Here at Dissent Athletic you get to feel welcome every single day. They help you achieve your endurance, strength and even your mental health. As for me being part of this community it has help me alot in many ways. Thanks to there program I have over achieved my expectations of the ability to push my workouts to the limit. FYI the coaches are amazing

Dissent has something for everyone at all levels of fitness/no matter what your goals! Endurance workouts, CrossFit-style training, personal training- it’s all here at Disssent. Coaches always available to answer questions, ensure members move well/have fun, and ultimately are concerned about members as people above all else. I love being part of this gym and highly recommend!

Walking into a gym was nothing new to me when I first walked into Dissent- but walking into a CrossFit style gym was a first, and I definitely had some preconceived ideas of the type of people that go to a gym full of climbing ropes, sleds, and barbells for days. I cannot say enough good things about this gym and it's owners! I am a part of a sober community called The Phoenix and I first attended a workout at Dissent through them. That was nearly a year ago. With the partnership that we have with them, we workout every Friday together and it is SO beneficial to our sobriety! Connecting with the community, offering amazing workouts, genuinely caring about each individual that walks into their gym and offering workouts for any level with AMAZING instruction...can't get better than that folks!

Dissent Wellness Coaching is excellent! They provided me with help establishing goals for daily macros/calories to lose weight and helped me focus on overall wellness, not just weight loss. I had weekly check ins with my coach and access to advice or help daily if needed - my coach was always just a text away and responded promptly! I highly recommend Dissent Athletics for nutrition coaching as well as personal training and group fitness classes!

I hurt my back from mountain biking (long story). I joined the gym to be stronger safely. I indeed got stronger only after a month of working hard! The owners are great, they truly care about their members and it's a great community. I highly recommend this business.

I've been doing remote programming for about a year and it is great! The coach can completely tailor workouts to fit your fitness goals, time allowance and available equipment while still providing results. And if you can attend in person, do so! The community truly is amazing!

I have been a member at Dissent Athletics for a year now. This gym is the only one that I have been too in the area where the staff actually cares about my personal health and fitness goals. Jonathan and Kelsey Royston (the owners) take the time to get to know every member of the gym on the personal and professional level. I’ve been a member at Dissent for about 3 months now. I can say that my fitness experience has been superb. I never thought that I would try CrossFit since I’m more of a Barre/Yoga/Pilates kind of girl. I’m thankful that I came across them with the Phoenix group. The fact that Dissent partners with the Phoenix to provide a weekly class for members of this organization speaks wonders of this gym. I was looking for a place to work on my recovery from trauma where I could get physically and mentally stronger by pushing my boundaries and getting out of my comfort zone.
