Services
Our relationship with our families forms the foundation of Winter Park Day Nursery. To our children and their families, we are a safe place, a school, a library, a neighbor and a friend. And on that foundation we have built our mission: to provide high-quality, affordable preschool education for Central Florida families.
In 1939, as the Gentile Brothers Company Packing Plant citrus business flourished in downtown Winter Park, Mr. Nelson Glass, principal of the elementary school, noticed that attendance was dropping dramatically. Upon researching the issue, he found that mothers in the community had begun working at the plant while their husbands were off at war.
Winter Park Day Nursery follows Creative Curriculum developed by Teaching Strategies. The Creative Curriculum supports active learning that allows each child to become a creative thinker who is able to solve problems and resolve conflicts. The Creative Curriculum was founded in 1988 by a former preschool teacher, Diane Trister Dodge.
Winter Park Day Nursery's Board of Directors has tremendous depth of experience and is actively engaged in providing high-quality leadership to ensure that the school succeeds in its mission. Beyond attendance at regularly scheduled meetings, board members meet as subcommittees, participate in fundraising and volunteer at the nursery.
As our journey here at Winter Park Day Nursery begins to come to an end I'm taken back with unexpected emotion. When we decided to enroll our son we simply thought he would enjoy the company of friends while learning new and exciting things daily. We didn't expect to gain an entirely new family. Each day walking into WPDN is warm and loving and when I drop my baby off I know he will be cared for by the best.

I love every single thing in this daycare, the teachers are amazing, the staff are so good except only one and that’s the reason I rated it 4 stars only. She is the front desk lady, her name is “Dara”, she is the worst at this daycare, she has a very bad attitude, arrogant and she is a mean person. I was talking with other moms, their kids in the same daycare and they have the same opinion on her. I’m afraid to appear my name so she retaliates my son in the school!

Our experience at WPDN:
My wife and I really struggled with the decision of whether or not to write this review. We know how a negative review can affect a business, and our intention is not ill mannered. It is solely to alert you as a parent, about our first hand experience, so you can hopefully make a better informed decision. Our son attended VPK at WPDN for a little over a month in the fall of 2018. Other than the staff, we can’t say that it was a good experience for us. The “classroom” is nothing of the like. There is a big open room with maybe 20, three year olds on one side and at

I am so happy with WPDN that I am willing to travel 45 minutes daily in order for my daughter to be in a safe and loving environment. I have a 1 year old already on the waiting list so that he can also attend when he turns 2. I LOVE THE TEACHERS AND ALL STAFF PROVIDING DAILY CARE, EDUCATION, SOCIAL AND LIFE SKILLS to my 3 year old.

I usually don’t write reviews but just had to share what a great school WPDN is. My son attended 2013 he was in the pre K class and before, the one just under that. The teachers and staff are great. You can tell they love their jobs and the kids and really want to be there. My son loved going too, which is always a good sign. They have a chef in the kitchen, she makes homemade food (hello miss Shirley!) no microwave. Vegetables and fruit with every meal. They eat family style at the table with the teacher and each take a serving from the dish. Teaches them table manners. Miss Paige, Miss Wendy
