The emergency room, that I've had to use twice now (broken back leg for the first visit and 2 broken front legs the second time), is absolutely awful! If you take your pet here, prepare to wait, than wait some more and finally, wait a bit longer. When I was finally taken back to a room, I preceded to, you guessed it, wait even more! At this point, I was at 5 hours sitting in the ER waiting room with a 6-month old puppy with 2 broken arms. By the time I got out of there, my pup had two casts on, I was exhausted and had been there for nearly 9 hours! If that weren't bad enough, within a

I spent 7 hours for my dog to be seen and another 1.5 for him to actually be looked at. He has a fracture in his paw and they immediately recommended surgery for the next day. The cost would have been $4-7k. If he needed the surgery it would have been one thing, but he was seen by his normal vet who said not to go the surgery route. After spending 8+ hours at this place, I would swear they try to wear you down to agree to a ridiculously priced procedure just to leave. I got there around 2:25pm and left at 10:40pm. I'm not amused by the reception staff either. They were more concerned

North Star Vets Dr. Monteblano and her assistant Barb are the most incredible physical therapist! 90 degree water treadmill treatments and laser treatments has my dog walking again after having her CCL removed and her knee being re-notched to prevent slipping! I highly recommend these incredible therapists as their care was beyond incredible! My Daisy is walking normally and playing! Thank you!!!!!

Forced to bring my cat here, Because my vet would not see him in case he was blocked. I thought it would be a decent experience as we were triaged quickly and he was brought back very quickly to see if he was blocked. Brought right back out to me, they said the vet didn’t think he was blocked, but I had to stay and wait to be seen still.
Absolutely worst attitude by front desk staff Priscilla. here for 2 hours already, attempt at getting an update and she acted as if I was bothering her.
Her attempt to explain things to me was this statement “we operate like a human emergency room”

Beware stay away!! This vet company is not going to last! Do not be another one they harm before they go under. The owner of this company belongs in jail! They are seeking opportunities to exploit and take advantage of pet owners in vulnerable circumstances for their financial gain, do not allow yourself to be added to their long list of victims! North Star Vets has no ethical or moral boundaries and are willing to infringe upon your rights in any way they please, at any time they desire. I have only been to NorthStar twice to have my Lilly girl examined by Dr. Alexandra Crooks for a cardiac tumor. She also performed an echocardiogram at both visits. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Crooks & staff. Dr. Crooks went over Lilly's chemodectoma findings in full detail and answered all of my questions. She was extremely kind. Lilly & I thank you.

Please read before bringing your pet here. Your pet loves you and would want you to consider this before coming here. I would strongly recommend against taking your pet here, please consider another veterinarian clinic, even if it requires you to drive further and spend more money, your pet is worth it and deserves your upmost love. I'm writing because I love my pet with all of my heart and assuming others love their pets a fraction as much or more, I feel obligated to write this in order to help others avoid pain and heart break. I've taken my pet here for many years and have spent many

Yesterday was my second time bringing one of my exotic pets (a crested gecko) to NorthStar as an emergency. The entire staff was AMAZING. From the moment I walked in, everyone was very kind and helpful. Despite their full, busy schedule, they were still able to give me little guy the absolute best standard of care and diagnostics. Dr. Winkel kept me up to date throughout the entire day and made sure I was involved in my gecko's treatment. She was open and honest with me about her prognosis and what she thought she'd be able to do for him. I honestly could not say enough about how much

Our beloved dog passed away while we were on vacation. We took her remains to NorthStar Vets. I have never seen a more caring facility. They were extremely kind and comforting to our family. We received a beautiful card along with an impression of Bailey's paw print. Thank you NorthStar for helping us say goodbye to our Bailey in such a loving way.

Had a last minute emergency with one of my dogs. He had a small growth of some sort of growth on his paw that wouldn’t stop bleeding. They were able to do what was needed to help him out. I called around 9pm and they said come right in, even though they were very busy. Staff was awesome, would definitely recommend this place.

My dog passed away suddenly at 10:45 on a Sunday night. Totally heartbroken when I called and asked to bring him in and the only response we received was "we close at 11". Explained he was a Great Dane and it would take a few minutes to get him in the car and was told "be here by 11". No compassion whatsoever. I understand it was close to closing but the lack of any compassion or even civility was shocking! I would never, ever recommend !

My 15week old Shih Tzu puppy woke up from a nap and was lethargic, confused, and her head would not stop wobbling. After a quick Google search, I thought it could be low blood sugar and read that it can be life threatening so I brought her in. I found the staff to be rude and abrupt. They triaged her rather quickly and brought her back to me and told me she was stable and could wait her turn. As we sat there, my puppy was whining, shaking, and growing even more lethargic. I asked for her to be triaged again as I felt she was getting worse. The front desk looked very annoyed and another girl came

DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED ANIMALS HERE. There are TOO MANY cases of animals being neglected and KILLED in this facility due to incompetence. They are inconsiderate, uncaring and completely rude. I work in a Vets office and I can tell when a facility actually gives a damn about you and your pet versus when they just want your money. If you need an emergency hospital go to Garden State. These people at North Star are straight up monsters.

In the last year I went to NorthStar with my dog Buster for two very different issues. He tore his ACL and needed/had surgery last July. I was pretty satisfied with his Doctor, treatment, surgery, and rehab. What they failed at was communication, specifically updates on his condition while he stayed overnight, and simply answering the phone when transferred to the recovery room (I called for a few hours)
In March my dog underwent a Bronchoscopy for excessive coughing. This time the follow up communication was terrible. I have been calling/emailing his Doctor for a few months with no success. I

This visit occurred a couple of months ago. I definitely chose the wrong career. This pet hospital has been super busy all weekend. I went there today and was well received. The attendants greet you in the emergency parking lot when you drive up, ask questions about your visit, hand you a clip board. The attendant was wearing a mask when she walked up to my vehicle. My dog had delivered puppies but according to an X-ray In addition to her behavior she had 1 more puppy inside her. We were advised to Give her a shot that would induce labor and to do this testing to check for calcium levels.

I held off on writing a review for this location to make sure that I had a well rounded review based off of a length of service.
I will start with the positives.
1. The veterinary staff is amazing and thorough. They really do want the best for your pets and to make sure they have long, pain free, and healthy lives. When I do have appointments with the vets they make time to have lengthy discussions with me and answer every question I have. As you can imagine, when your pet is ill your head spins and you have many questions and they really handle this well.
2. They have "tech" appointments

Cannot say enough about NorthStar! Dr. Anderson and her team are amazing! We brought our dog in and he was diagnosed with ITP a blood issue bleeding from the mouth and within 8 days she and her team stabilized him and we were able to take him home and care for him there. Not only did she take amazing care of our dog but she made things as cost effective for us as possible. (We all know vets are expensive) I'm forever grateful for her and all the wonderful people in the ICU that took such great care of our Bane! Would recommend to anyone whether emergency or regular care!!

DO NOT GO FOR EMERGENCIES!!!!! Brought my dog there because he was having serious breathing issues, they brought him in than 45 min later brought him back out and told me to stay in parking lot for "couple hours" this was 8:30PM. They did not feel his issues were urgent. They called me at 1:25 AM asking if I was still there.
Brought him to another vet after Northstar told me to wait, unfortunately due to me wasting time at Northstar my dogs condition worsened rapidly and lost him.

The only system they have working well is the payment system. Their triage and pet exam process as well as trying to get any information from doctors or staff is incredibly painful. I waited more in person and on the phone in the past two days with this vet than I did combined for the past 10 years with my previous vet. I know COVID is an issue but their customer service is atrocious.

The workers there are very professional and friendly. The whole experience of putting down my dog was rough but the people at this place made it very easy and hassle-free.
I really enjoyed the environment inside their building as well. They have a separate room for your family and your pet which was very nice and private. Once we were finished, we were able to leave through a door inside the same room. Very efficient and professional and I would highly recommend to others.

Both of my pets have been here. One for a life threatening emergency appointment and the other for an emergency surgery (but not critical). The not critical situation we did wait several hours but I understand because it was Christmas Eve and she was stable. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PET!!!
Please do not take your pet to this place. I took my very sick Newfoundland pup there today in tears because she kept losing consciousness and they had her walking back and forth from the entrance to the car. Their bedside manner is horrendous and while they are busy, their lack of judgment is HIGHLY FLAWED. Our dogs deserve better. Better treatment, better staff, better standards. Look elsewhere. Not only did they have her walking but her vitals were off and they refused to keep her inside. Yes, it's COVID times but I've been to many

So here taking my friends bird. They do have exotic vets. They are very nice here it seems. My friend was told she can wait for the exotic vet which will be about an hour. Or she can see emergency vet now but then they would consult with the exotic vet but there would be two charges. One obviously for the ER and then the other. That was very nice of them to inform her so there are no unexpected charges. This place looks absolutely beautiful and is open 24/7. I would definitely recommend this place.
