If you are facing a large amount of debt, you have options to achieve financial freedom. Bankruptcy is a federally protected tool allowing individuals and businesses to eliminate or repay debts over a period of time. There are several different types of bankruptcy, each with different eligibility requirements and each with their own pros and cons.
Chapter 7 is a common form of bankruptcy that allows individuals and businesses to wipe out many debts for a fresh financial start. It is referred to as both "straight" and "liquidation" bankruptcy since the filer's property is liquidated by the bankruptcy trustee to pay off creditor debt. Chapter 7 is pertinent for those who have accumulated insurmountable debt, especially unsecured debt, such as credit card debt.
Filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy is generally an action taken by a business that has too much financial obligation or debt. Anyone, including individuals and couples, can actually file for bankruptcy under this Chapter, but the most common scenario involves corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.
If you do not qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you still have the option of filing for bankruptcy under Chapter 13. This type of bankruptcy is available to both consumers and sole proprietors of small businesses. Like Chapter 11, it involves a reorganization plan that will pay off a portion of unsecured debt over time.

We had gotten ourselves into an uncontrollable state brought on by medical bills, car repair... the stuff that just drags you down. We were paying a mortgage worth of bills every month and it never moved the needle. I reached out to Troy Morrison and he was extremely helpful getting me the information I needed about my options. With his help, we were able to move things along quickly and painlessly. He was always quick to respond with any concerns I had and now that the whole thing is over it's a brand new future. If you're considering financial options, reach out to Troy!

I highly recommend Morrison & Associates, PC if you are considering claiming bankruptcy. Troy Morrison was recommended to me by an attorney I knew in New Jersey, and I'm so glad we hired him. He was so very helpful, respectful, and kept us in the loop on what was going on, what was going to happen, and provided coaching along the way. If we called with a question, he responded quickly. Everything was done via phone calls (thank you COVID), but Troy made us comfortable with him, even though we couldn't meet him in person. I felt that the service and over the top attention he gave us

Troy helped me file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy claim and made it such a simple and stress free process. His prices and reasonable and he walked me through each step and I had minimal work to complete on my end. He sent me a checklist to make sure that everything was good to go and that helped with organization. Prior to the hearing him and I had a brief discussion and he explained the process and answered all my questions. Would absolutely recommend.

I used this firm for a bankruptcy ... they took my money and the bankruptcy wasn't done correctly... I then had to hire another firm to correct their work. I paid them $2500 and the lawyer wouldn't even talk to me or return my emails ... I was very upset and he Troy Morrison didn't care that his work was not completed. When I did contact him he stated it may cost more money ... when I asked wasn't that part of what I paid for he stopped answering my emails ... Terrible company don't use them at all...
