Nestled in the center of Historic Tarrytown's Main Street, Tarry Tavern is the renewal of the classic American Tavern. Elegant English Red Oak Paneling, warm and butter colored walls, and a richly lacquered bar welcome guests. And, the well displayed plenitude of copper pots, farm field paintings, fresh fruits and seasonal flower arrangements, give Tarry Tavern the feel of a country farmhouse, albeit one that is sparkling, bright and cheery.
The Menu allows diners to choose from either the Tavern or Market Menu, both showcasing the bounty of the Hudson Valley. A concept designed to invoke a sense of tradition and comfort while the Market remains largely inspired by the seasons and local produce. Our selection of 12 draft brews, mostly craft and predominantly American as well as our thorough wine list shall be able to please even the most discerning palate.

Services
As you may know, The Music Hall is a Non-Profit Organization that exists to serve our community and has been seriously impacted by this pandemic, cancelling most shows through 2020 and losing revenue. We can not imagine life in Tarrytown without this vibrant landmark theater that brings so many legendary artists and shows to our town.

Nice atmosphere, but very disappointing experience. My boyfriend and I each ordered their chicken sandwich at $14 a piece, which was the cheapest item on the lunch menu, and they were bland and bone dry, just a plastic container of mayo on the side. Even the fries were disappointing, again bland and a strange texture, like they weren't even fresh. We won't be going back.

We spent $150 before tip for four glasses of wine, two martinis, two apps, and one shared entre (so full after we gorged on delicious bread).
Keep in mind that this restaurant doesn’t take reservations. I called approx 15 minutes before we wanted to arrive to see how busy they were before setting out.
It’s on one of the main streets with nice people watching and great service.
The wine was very reasonably priced (10-12$/glass). The appetizers we had were the chicken liver mouse (delicious, generous, and served with toasted bread and two different pickles). We also had mussels (butter, wine

My daughter was on a college trip with the honors program. They went in to eat not realizing it was fancy they didn’t want to be rude and leave so they stayed she said food was good. They were forced to pay 20% tip and the waiter stood their counting the tip in front of them! Telling them they were short!
Who does that???? Is it stated visibly that groups of 5 or more has to tip 20%? They should have left when they realized it wasn’t what they were looking for!

Went for lunch, ordered a milanese chicken. Had to send it back. They served a dry burnt cutlet. I could not even cut it with a steak knife. The other dish was a pulled pork with fries. It was a hot mess the pork looked disgusting fries were cold and the coleslaw was an off color. Not my type of restaurant. I think they can do better.

Came here on a friend's recommendation that has visited this place a couple of times before. Wait was a little long, staff was friendly. Started with the calamari that was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Entree was the beef short rib that was fall apart and just perfect. Overall the meal was great and will definitely be back when in the area!
