Gonna be blunt: Not sure if we got the boniest,fattiest, disgusting pieces of meats reserved for CAUCASIANS, or if they serve that nastiness to everyone..I have had.. Amazing,homemade & restaurant carribean food! And that over price,nastiness we got? Was NOT! IT! I AVE A BIOLOGICALLY 'MIXED' child,so..no 'race card' here.

Oxtail peas and rice, is my go to buuuuuut, EVERYTHING is great! I love this place! .. it's truly the only Jamaican restaurant that I have ever tried and really enjoyed everything! Great staff, clean environment, and large portions all at reasonable prices! My favorite restaurant in Jersey hands down!

My second time ordering from Taste of the Island and it was not a disappointment...I had the stewed chicken and a veggie pattie. Not only was the dish incredibly tasty, the chicken breast meat was wonderfully tender and juicy. I don't generally enjoy eating the breast meat...this was fantastic.
A heads up that their prices have increased due to COVID, so I unexpectedly was charged more than I had anticipated. However, I think the price increase is worth it, especially since the food was so delicious and the fact that it is a small business that is trying to stay open right now.
