Don Wood graduated from Franklin High School in 1974. That same year he entered MTSU to pursue a degree in Chemistry. In order to help meet financial obligations, he worked part-time for a residential plumbing contractor. Don graduated from MTSU in 1978, with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. In the beginning, Wood Plumbing Company's primary area of service was residential dwellings in Williamson County.
The early years were extremely difficult as the building industry went into a recession. The recession, along with an extended illness of the company's owner, almost brought an end to the business. However, the building industry and Don Wood rebounded, and from that point forward, Wood Plumbing Company has experienced solid and steady growth.

Don Wood was contracted by the sellers of a house we bought to put in a drain pipe for our hot water heater drain pan. The guy came the day we moved in, he drilled through the wall near the floor to send the pipe to the outside... little did he know, he drilled DIRECTLY through our pipe that our washer uses. So our laundry room and room adjacent flooded as a result of our washer draining during a cycle. They came out and fixed that, which was good.
Now we're on to our next issue, the drain pan (they originally came to installed a run-off pipe for) started overflowing because that pipe is angled

In summation, I'm giving this company 1 star due to poor workmanship/quality and severe unprofessionalism.
Don Wood did every bit of plumbing in our new build 6,200sq ft home built in February 2019. They were paid well and above $20,000 for this work. Since move in, we have had nothing but issues with their workmanship and quality. We've had showers with no hot water, toilets that run constantly, toilets that won't flush, toilets that aren't stable, garbage disposal that doesn't work, leaky faucets, water pressure issues and the list goes on. This company has done nothing

I called Don Wood plumbing for a service call for an issue stemming from improper installation of a toilet, which they had installed about 2 years prior. In short, a bolt was loose that was causing a leak. The tech identified the issue and fixed it in under 5 minutes, literally. Because it was outside of warranty, they still charged me the full $87 service call fee, despite the issue stemming from their improper installation. I understand how trip charges work, but this is poor customer service and just bad business. Will not be calling them again.

Was getting new floors done. I needed a plumber to com to remove the toilet and come back to replace it when the flooring was done. I called Don Wood since they are ALL over WKRN in the morning wanting our business and I've heard about them around town. I called and the gal that answered said that they could do it. Asked if they've worked on my house before. Uh, no. It's a new home and *knock on wood* I haven't needed a plumber. She tells me 'sorry we aren't taking new clients.' What???? Is this a hair salon?? That's the only time I've heard

I really hat to write a bad review but ....... I contracted them to rough in plumbing to be able to pour a slab for an addition. Delay, Delay after scheduled. After more delays and them not showing up Don himself comes out - told we'll be out tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and it's raining. I finally get upset and state - if you really don't want to do the job just let me know. A crew finally later in the week arrives and gets 3/4 finished The guys told me - we have to go out and catch a service call but we will be out in the AM to finish. Great - I schedule the inspection from the city a day later.

Had our 75 gal powered vent Lochinvar water heater spring a leak (during a party no less!) I determined that the leak was from the tank which meant a new heater. Called Lee Co first (we have a service agreement). They wanted over $6k to replace the heater or $14k to upgrade to tankless which is ridiculous. Then had Don Wood recommended to me. Their guys came right out and had the heater changed out in about four hours. The original quote was $1300 with the final bill being slightly higher due to installation location difficulties. They were fast and thorough. They even replaced the circulation

Very poor experience with the owner, Don Wood, as well as his office staff. After diagnosing the problem parts were ordered but never installed even after multiple phone calls from me, the customer. Was billed for incomplete work and then when the problem was supposedly "fixed" we had a larger problem than we started with, a huge leak that sprayed water over drywall. Called Don Wood and was treated like I was the problem. It took three trips to fix a bad sauter job. It's a shame because we had been a loyal customer for over 11 years. Looks like we'll find a new plumber who values
