Dyer Funeral Home
Dyer Funeral Home has been serving Cookeville area families since 1966. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come. Dyer Funeral Home was opened in 1966 by brothers, Paul and Ralph Dyer. The brothers designed and built the funeral home and lived there with their families in the two apartments upstairs.

They not only directed funerals but were also often called upon to sing. The Dyers operated the funeral home until the 1980's when they sold it to Hoyt and Shirley Maberry. The Maberry's continued the excellent service begun by the Dyers. They, along with siblings, Joe and Debbie Maberry, lived in the two apartments upstairs, continuing the tradition of onsite ownership started by the Dyer brothers.
Services
At Dyer Funeral Home, we know planning a service can be a very difficult process for families who have just lost a loved one. It is our goal to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can find comfort, say goodbye, and come to terms with the loss.

Over the years, we have seen how gathering with friends and family gives everyone the opportunity to connect, share memories, offer words of sympathy, and create a lasting network of comfort and support.Whether the choice is burial or cremation, we can help create a ceremony which serves to celebrate, honor, and remember the life of the deceased and meet the needs of family members.
At Dyer Funeral Home, we provide cremation services at our locally-owned and operated crematory. Our funeral directors are available to explain all the choices available when cremation is chosen. Families have many options available when the choice is cremation. A traditional viewing and funeral can be held prior to cremation.
Personalization isn't just about honoring your loved one's individuality. It also allows family and friends to feel connected to the services and the life being honored. We work closely with you and your family to understand your personal preferences so we can make the services as meaningful as possible.
At Dyer Funeral Home, we're pleased to do our part in honoring our country's veterans, who have selflessly protected our freedom. Our duty is to provide a dignified service and assistance to families with obtaining all Veteran's, Social Security, and insurance benefits. Former military members who served on active duty and departed under honorable conditions.

They were incredibly helpful and kind to me and my children when my husband passed away. We had no idea what to do and they talked us through the process and made it clear that they were there to serve us. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need. When I pass, I want them to take care of my service.

I was surprised to see how comfortable it is there. There is a kitchen but there is also a nice and comfortable eating area. The staff are so kind and understanding. It was a sad occasion that I was there however, the staff did a great job in making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. I would like to say cozy in some areas but that does sound strange for a funeral home.

My family has utilized the services of Dyer Funeral Home for decades, and we have always been treated with dignity and respect. My father, my mother, and most recently my brother. Ken Haney and the entire staff are wonderful people who go far above and beyond to help you through such a painful and difficult time.

Ken Haney and Jodie Dailey were extremely helpful when my father passed away. They gave me many options which included the possibility of burial on his property, transporting him in a privately owned vehicle to Indiana using a transit permit, transporting him by hearse, and they were kind, caring and explained cremation vs traditional burial. They didn't do any financing which was very stressful since my father had no life insurance or money set aside for his death and that is the only reason I didnt give them 5 stars. They did however give me a very affordable price which eased my worries but
