Hooper - Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home has been serving Algood, Cookeville, Baxter and Monterey area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come. On a crisp Autumn day in 1972, David Horner walked into Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home and asked Mr. Ed Hooper and Mr. Earl Huddleston for a job.
We are now offering an option to families for those who can't attend the service in person. Complimentary livestreaming services on our website allows family members and friends to watch the service in real time. A recording of the service will remain on our website for 90 days for the convenience of those who wish to watch later.
It's been our family's priviledge to serve Putnam County families for more 45 years and our honor to own and operate a funeral home that has been a staple here since 1940. Our hope is to offer a place of comfort, strength, stability and compassion for every family we serve. Along with a great staff, we have made it our life mission to meet the needs of grieving families while investing in the great communities we serve.
At Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, we know planning a service can be a very difficult process for families who have just lost a loved one. It is our goal to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can find comfort, say goodbye, and come to terms with the loss.
At Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, we provide cremation services at our locally-owned and operated crematory. Our funeral directors are available to explain all the choices available when the choice is cremation. Families have many options available when they choose cremation. A traditional viewing and funeral can be held prior to cremation.

I cannot begin to say how appreciative I am to Hooper, Huddleston and Horner. I was from out of state as well as my mom, who passed while traveling. I just picked this funeral home at random. There were a few right by the hospital, where my mom passed, but just felt like this was the one. And I was right! They were so compassionate, understanding, helpful, warm and kind. They truly helped make the process easy, and comforting.

I came to HHH for my husband’s funeral. These folks get it right, down to the least detail. They are so easy to work with and concentrate on meeting every request for a very personalized service. There is NO pressure to buy. You choose; they arrange everything beautifully. They took so much stress off the family. Very professional, yet personal. They are part of a good memory for this family.

The people at this funeral home were very good to my family after my mom died. They also did my grandma and great auntie, and loads of other people too. They knew my aunt, also, and they are like very professional and down homey (it is Cookeville). I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to use a funeral home in Cookeville. We did not have a funeral for my mom, just a private viewing and a burial. Everyone was so patient and respectful. They tell you everything that is going to happen.
