Austin Stitzer D.V.M. was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He did his undergraduate education at Arizona State University and then moved to Texas to go to Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1999 he moved back to the Valley of the Sun, and worked as an associate Veterinarian in the valley that helped him refine his skills, learn reproductive medicine and other specialties.
At Vistancia Animal Hospital we perform the highest quality anesthesia safety with complete oral health evaluations and treatment. Prior to performing any anesthetic procedure, all patients will undergo a pre-anesthetic evaluation which includes a preoperative blood profile and physical examination.
When the infected mosquito bites, the larvae pass through the tissue into the bloodstream. In time, they reach the arteries of the lungs where they continue to develop and grow. Once they arrive in the lungs, at three months post-infection, they can start to do damage. At Vistancia Animal Hospital we recommend year round Heartworm prevention, and your loved one can begin after testing negative for their first Heartworm test.
At Vistancia Animal Hospital we utilize a full in house diagnostic laboratory. We have the ability to run full chemistry and CBC panels, as well as diagnose diseases during your appointment for routine care. Heartworm tests and other laboratory tests can also be run in house for your convenience, and ease when refilling medications.

After calling 19 different vet offices Vistancia Animal Hospital was the only one that had an appointment the following day, and I was so worried about my cat I didn’t care that I had to drive 45 minutes to get there, and I loved it there! It was clean, inviting and they worked fast! Every staff member was so kind, they all handled my sweet baby so gently even though I know she probably hissed a lot - and to top it off they actually call you to check on how your pet is doing! The first time we ever had to rely on Vistancia Animal Hospital was one of the toughest days of our lives, having to put our dog down. In what was one of our darkest moments, we were greeted with nothing but empathy and professionalism. We called ahead in the midst of an emergency and as we entered an employee came to open the door for us. They led us to the weigh station and then immediately into a private room. The staff here are immaculate and make you feel like family. I needed an appointment right away and after calling 7 other vets in the area who all said they were a month out for new patients, Vistancia saw us in two days. All of our pets will come here from now because of the caring service we receive.

Our regular vet of 15 years is rarely open since the pandemic and every other vet has no appointments available for a week out. I called Vistancia Animal Hospital for my sick pets two weeks in a row and both times they fit them in as new patients same day. They were kind, got my pets feeling better and affordable. We had a wonderful experience with this clinic with our old dog. Unfortunately we had to put her down a year ago. So when we got a new puppy it was a no brainer for us to bring her here. That was a big mistake. In that years time their quality and care for animals has gone way down. Every time we have had an appointment we wait for at least an hour past our appointment time then are rushed through the visit with the vet. I love them here, they are so caring and they don't push you to do anything, they give you a run down on what the procedures are and prices and they let you decide. We have had nothing but good experiences here for all three of our labs. And I had to write a review after our most recent experience, as it was one of those that we all fear as pet owners. Our dog quickly went down hill and the care and expertise that we received as we had to make the decision to let our dog go was invaluable. They made us all feel very loved and comfortable as we said our goodbyes and our baby was treated gently and with love. I cannot say enough good about this place. Thank you.
