Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Dr. Petersen was born in Detroit and raised in Phoenix. He knew from an early age that he wanted to make a career of working with animals and has always been fascinated by medicine and science. He recieved his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 1983. That same year he joined the Westridge Animal Hospital team.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.
Here at Westridge Animal Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.

At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered? Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. If I could do negative stars I would!! I’m disgusted and how little they care about animals here. My sisters son found a stray kitten, we called because the kitten did not look well they said “Oo it will be fine wait 7 weeks and then call us.” I was heart broken that a place that’s suppose to be an “animal HOSPITAL” wouldn’t even ask to bring the kitten in to make sure everything was okay even if it was for a 5 min check up! So me knowing better called Glendale animal hospital and they told us to bring him in right away. Unfortunately they did have to put the kitten down because it

Refused entry and treatment for my service animal because I don't wear a mask due to major health issues. Would not even entertain taking the K9 from outside and treating it while I waited outside.
The "gatekeeper" at the front desk has no people skills whatsoever and treated me like one of the homeless people in their seedy neighborhood attempting to use their bathroom.
My dog was provided more dignity and respect than I was as it was not mandated to wear an ineffective mask.
My business has gladly gone elsewhere despite a few more miles to drive.
Avoid this dumpy dive.
Wish I could've met

Dr Peterson and his staff are wonderful. My mother took our pets here when I was little and we trust them completely. We've been through new puppy parvo (she survived), random illnesses, vaccinations and loss. They are always compassionate and willing to help. When we had to put our sweet kitty down, they let me stay with her until the end and made us a clay impression of her paw. I can't recommend them enough!

Dr. Peterson and his staff were fantastic with with our Cat. They were flexible with getting him in although they were booked for the next 2 days. Since our situation was a semi emergency, our cat was serviced quickly. This experience was straight forward, no hidden fees our unnecessary exams or procedures. Dr. Peterson provided us truthful information without any unnecessary surprises. Our cat is doing well a few days later and back to his normal stubborn ways
