Biological stains on your roof can damage and drastically reduces the life of your shingles (Most shingle products are designed to last 25-40 years) in nature these organisms break down organic matter like dead trees and leaves.
On your roof they digest the organic content of the shingles (an additive called "v.o.c." or volatile organic content) and if your roof is under-ventilated fungus and algae can grow at an accelerated rate and rot the wood shingles are nailed too.The stains also decrease your home's perceived value as they lower curb appeal and raise questions about the integrity of the roof and overall maintenance of the rest of the house.

I had my house re-roofed 10 years ago and even though it was guaranteed to last 20 years, the appearance deteriorated to the point it looked terrible. There were black streaks which were taking over the green roof. I tried removing the streaks with bleach and soap. It didn't help. I called the roofing company and they referred me to Sparkle Clean Roof.
