Services
Whittaker has been a general dentist for 38 years. He graduated in 1982 from the University of Washington. For 20 years, he was a part of a periodontal study club where learned to place implants, perform soft tissue grafting, perform osseous surgery, and other periodontal procedures. He has performed thousands of fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions, and surgeries.
Whitening restores natural tooth color, and bleaching whitens teeth beyond the natural color. We often use these terms interchangeably in dentistry. Both are achieved using peroxide to remove intrinsic strains, and will provide a lighter shade. We offer at-home whitening with our custom trays. Composite resin is the tooth-colored filling material most dentists use today.
Whittaker Family Dentistry has been serving Spokane since 1940. WP Whittaker started the practice in Downtown Spokane with the motto in mind to " Work Hard, and Be Honest" and that is exactly what he did for 37 years. His son and current owner, Earl Whittaker, has kept the same motto and lived into it for the past 38 years.
We look forward to meeting you. We will answer any questions you may have but we have answered some commonly asked questions on insurance and payments here. We accept nearly all private insurance plans. We also accept many forms of Medicare and Medicaid for children. If you have dental insurance, we will most likely accept it.

I was extremely satisfied with my last visit. Dr Whittaker removed a 40 year old filling cuz I had a new cavity there. It is so very nice to have a prettier smile. He was also very aware of all my bodily responses to pain and was prompt at responding. Very nice man. I will definitely refer my friends to Whittaker family dentistry.

Hands down best dentist I’ve ever been to. Very kind and caring. Not only did they do an outstanding job on my recent gum graft, but when I came out my car wouldn’t start and the owners came out and helped me with a jump start. I can’t say enough about the quality of care you receive from these folks and they really treat you like family.

Very happy I found them a few years ago. Just good old fashioned father and son dentistry. Also, a remarkably friendly staff. They make everything so easy, not requiring multiple appointments to get dental work done or trying to upsell services and products like some previous dental offices I've been to and that others have told me about. I would, without any hesitancy, recommend them to anyone needing dental services. In fact, I recently got my wife to switch from a boutique style dentistry office to them. She is happy she made the switch.
