Some background on me - I've always had a great passion for entertainment and storytelling. I come from a big family of seven, packed full of different personalities. My four siblings and I are the crazy offspring of an attorney and a ventriloquist. Raised in Southwest Missouri, I love the MidWest and will raise my kiddos here; but we do love to travel!
In my education years I studied film production in Santa Fe, New Mexico and returned to Springfield, MO in 2011. This is when I found my niche in weddings and I created Selby Films. That was 11 years ago, and have since moved to Kansas City, found my life love (Miranda, who just so happened to be a veteran photographer), and we recently brought our baby girl Stevie into the world!

The engagement session is one of the most important things we can do to ensure your wedding day is a complete success. The time we spend together at this session allows us break the ice, develop a relationship between you, the camera and myself, and it gives you an idea of what to expect from me as a photographer.
Style is key when you're searching for the right photographer. Everyone shoots photos differently, and every client has different taste. My style is warm, natural and colorful; and my philosophy is simple: I aim to capture things as they happen, in the most natural way possible. I take a lot of pride in capturing live, candid moments and I love working within the space at hand to create something awesome.
My husband and I hired David to be the videographer for our wedding. From shooting the 'thank you' video to the final 'highlight' reel of our wedding day, David FAR exceeded our expectations. David puts an incredible amount of time and energy in his work and is SO much fun to work with! David makes it very easy to relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera.

I just got all of our wedding photos back, and I can say that I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. David, and his assistant Miranda did a wonderful job making us feel comfortable and relaxed while capturing the most exciting day of our life. He worked quickly and efficiently on our wedding day, making sure that we didn't have to be out in the heat for too long. Throughout the planning process he was great about emailing or calling back as soon as possible. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced photographer. I would highly recommend using David for your wedding photographer!

My husband and I hired David over the phone after doing extensive research on him and several other photographers. I could not find a bad review! He had such a down to earth personality and ease to his voice. We were sold and never looked back! Our engagement pictures were part of our package and we really enjoyed meeting David and developing a sense of comfort ahead of time. The day of the wedding David and his crew were top notch! We booked his biggest package that included 2 photographers and 2 videographers for the day. They were prompt on arrival and quickly took care of those detail shots

David was absolutely amazing!! He was very personable and knowledgeable about the wedding process which was so helpful because we are not. We met him for a get to know you meeting before the big day and he was easy going and great to talk to. On the day, he was on time. He was patient and kind and had a great arsenal of photos to take. He helped keep us on track and was instrumental in keeping me from melting down on several occasions. The photo we’ve already seen was phenomenal and I can’t wait to see more of his work! He was such a joy to work with and I truly feel like we made a friend through

David was PERFECT! He did such a beautiful job photographing my wedding, it was exactly what I wanted. And his pictures are AMAZING!! He took some great photos that played with light and shadow, he set up some shots that turned out absolutely breathtaking, AND he caught some hilarious moments during the reception that weren't staged - I don't know how he did it, but he perfectly captured the mood and happiness at our wedding in his photos. I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out and as an added bonus: David is one of the genuinely NICEST people I have ever met, my entire family

David made our entire wedding experience such a joy. He took care of us from the engagement pictures through the last dance of our reception. Him and his crew did a fantastic job of making us feel comfortable and well taken care of. They thought of things that I never would have! I never thought of doing a wedding video before I saw his amazing work, and now that is something that we will cherish. David is a great mix of professional and goofy and will make your day one for the books!
