I was recently looking through old childhood photographs of mine. Seeing and old never seen before photo my Grandfather and I together made me instantly bust into tears. He died 30 years ago and I treasure the memories held in the photos.
It reminded me of the unbelievable power they have to transport you back to a feeling stored in your cells, to reconnect with family that are now gone, to introduce and share these special people with the ones that are with you now.No matter how skilled you are at story telling and recalling, there is something so impactful and irreplaceable in a photograph to really create the felt sense of who they were and what life was like in that moment.

Not every Maui wedding is at the beach, though making sure to sip away after your ceremony for a moment alone, together, is always a good idea.
Maui maternity photography is one of my absolute favorite things to capture! Hawai'i is a breathtaking backdrop for capturing and documenting the exquisite changes, that a woman goes through. Celebrating your pregnancy with a Maui maternity photography session, is a a treasured keepsake for generations to come!

Emma is a gem! We were lucky to have Emma at our wedding recently, we saw her work and thought she would be a great addition to our special day, and she blew our expectations out of the water! She is super stealthy, we never knew when she was actually taking photos which limited all distractions, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE all the photos! Emma has a true talent. Without over editing and photoshopping, as has become so common these days, she captures the beauty of the moment as a true artist. We are so lucky to have found Emma as our family photographer. She captured our small family of three on a very windy beach last year, as a growing family for our maternity shoot upcountry this summer, and as a complete family with our newest addition in the comfort of our own home. My family was planning a trip to Maui in early December of 2018. My mom LOVES taking pictures with her iPhone (you know, the ones of you drinking coffee before you've even brushed your teeth, kind of pictures).
I thought it would be a fun surprise and wonderful Christmas present to have some professional shots of us captured on the beautiful Hawaiian beaches.
