From white belt all the way to black belt and beyond, your traditional martial arts training will be based on the Korean martial arts of Hapkido and Taekwondo. We offer specialized training to various groups of professionals in need of simple, yet effective self-defense training that needs to be learned quickly.

There are many reasons why people look to learn a martial art. The most obvious is self-defense, but there are many other benefits including increased confidence, reduced stress and improved fitness. Greater strength and flexibility as well as emotional and spiritual growth are also reasons why people pursue martial arts training.

The instructors at the Institute are equally capable of training children and adults, men and women, young and old as we tailor training and techniques to the abilities of our students. Hapkido: This "soft style" martial art teaches you to use your opponent's attack and energy against them. It is well-suited for men, women, children and the elderly since it can be done at any age.
Children join martial arts schools for different reasons. It could be to gain confidence and learn how to deal with bullies as they become proficient at defending themselves. No child should be abused, bullied or live in fear. Children need confidence, discipline, and respect as well as overall health of mind, body and spirit.
Learning how to protect yourself and your family is a big responsibility, and one that every individual needs to know. When seconds count, and help is minutes away, you will have to make potentially life-or-death decisions. Regardless of if you are faced with a pissed-off drunk at a bar, a disgruntled worker, a home invasion or an active shooter situation, knowing how to defend yourself when precious seconds count will make all the difference.
As one of the oldest martial arts and self-defense schools in Luzerne County (founded in 1987), our traditional martial arts curriculum is a compilation of three different Korean Grandmasters' knowledge blended together by the school's owner, Master Vince Sperduto. Master Vince holds the rank of 8th Dan and is himself a Grandmaster.
