Amarie Counseling Services provides online and office-based psychotherapy, culturally responsive clinical training and culturally responsive clinical supervision. Our services are tailored to the specific needs of socially diverse people and the clinicians who serve them. Have you been struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief or relationship difficulties?

Are you experiencing stress related to racial dynamics in your community or workplace? Have you found it difficult to move beyond a traumatic experience? Then therapy is likely the right choice for you. You have the option of receiving your services in a warm and inviting office or from the comfort of your home via a secure video service.
Services
Clients have the option of meeting onsite in a comfortable and warm office setting. Clients typically meet on a weekly basis for 50 minute long sessions. Alternative schedules may be accommodated depending on the client's needs and presenting concerns, at the therapist's discretion.

Session fees include initial and ongoing clinical assessment, collaborative goal setting, regular progress updates, necessary referrals, and requested consultations with additional service providers.Clients have the option of meeting with a therapist via the secure and HIPPA compliant video platform, Doxy.me.
In clinical practice with diverse communities, many questions related to social identity arise. Clinicians are often uncertain how to address these issues in effective and ethical ways. Consultation is provided to licensed clinicians seeking support regarding clinical issues related to social identity and therapy.
Supervision is provided for Associate MFTs, Associate Social Workers and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors. This supervision includes all of the required elements for accruing hours towards licensure. Supervisees are provided with weekly 60 minute, face to face or video based sessions.

For Associate MFTs, Associate Social Workers and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors who are seeking additional weekly supervision units, weekly group supervision is available.Groups consist of a maximum of 8 supervisees and are 2 hours long.
Dr. Shawan Worsley is owner and founder of Amarie Counseling Services. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 89832) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC 641). She holds a Ph. D. in American Studies, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and a B.A. in African American Studies.
