Family is everything. Whether you were born into your family or you chose your family (or they chose you), having family is where it's at. When I was a kid, we had one family portrait taken. ONE. It was at a department store and we look pale and sad (it was most likely winter time time, too). You know what I wish we had more of?
Photos of us together. Sure, I have a ton of snapshots of various people, of me and my brothers, but I don't have any decent photographs. And you know what? When I was 19, my youngest brother was killed in an accident. He was 11. All I have are terrible snapshots and some "selfies" with a film camera (and some of you know how those turned out) and that one terrible department store portrait that was taken when he was a baby.

We only get to watch our kids grow up once and to show our people that they mean something to you.

Baby E is back on the blog! I was so excited to head down to Hampton New Hampshire to meet up with her family again, this time at Julie's parent's home where everyone. Maine Newborn Photography Ah, those first days after you come home with your newborn go by so fast - even though at the time they seem like one long drawn out day that.

I cannot thank Sarah enough for the pictures she took of my family! The quality of the photos paired with the mix of posing and candid are just fantastic. Sarah herself was a pleasure to work with from day 1. I explained how the location of the photos was so important to my parents and she was able to quickly assess the best possible backdrops for an incredible array of photos. She was also great with getting my young nephew engaged and easily worked around times of days that he was most responsive to. I could not recommend Sarah enough after hiring her for our wedding at the Samoset in July 2021. We had a minor crisis when our original photographer canceled on us 6 weeks before our wedding day. We found Sarah and fate was on our side as our wedding was her last summer weekend available. After chatting with her, I felt instantly at ease after my bridal breakdown and couldn’t wait to meet her in person. She was communicative leading up to wedding day and let me know what to expect. €‹Sarah was an absolute delight to work with. She is all the things you want in a photographer-professional, talented, creative and fun. She gave us many options for where to do the photo shoot taking time to explain each one. I appreciated that she had a backup plan/date depending on the weather. She was able to direct my family with ease and work with a fussy newborn, yet got phenomenal shots. She was very flexible with the types of photos we want. I will cherish these photos forever.

€‹Working with Sarah was a breath of fresh air. It was a foggy morning and I was nervous about the weather but she assured me she was all in and it would be beautiful. I had been looking forward to getting outside and having our first family photos taken since our first baby was born in March. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We just walked along, went with the flow and enjoyed our morning together as a family... Sarah was there with us like she was a friend along for the morning. It was calm, relaxed and comfortable. €‹Our family experience with Sarah Jane Photography was excellent. Sarah chose the perfect location at the best time to capture our family with the most beautiful setting. She handled my requests during the photo shoot with ease and responded quickly to any questions I had in ordering digital prints. I felt very comfortable explaining what I'd like in the photos because she is extremely approachable and understands people's desired results in a family portrait shoot. €‹Sarah was so easy to work with. From our first phone call of scheduling to all my emails of questions Sarah made me feel confident that our family photos would be beautiful. She was timely. thorough, and sweet in her responses. During our session she made my young children smile and giggle, capturing their joy, and leaving us with priceless pictures. We couldn't have been happier with the turn out. Her prices are fair and I was very pleased with the quality of the prints. I would HIGHLY recommend her to family and friends and plan on using her down the line for our family photos.
