As a ministry of Talbot Park Baptist Church, Talbot Park Preschool has provided a loving learning environment for hundreds of children since 1984. Located in the Talbot Park neighborhood of Norfolk, our school reflects the diverse backgrounds of the area. At Talbot Park Preschool we respect our students and understand that each of them has individual wants and needs.
We believe that learning can only be fostered from a feeling of mutual respect, guidance, and direction do our very best to maintain those values in everything we do. Talbot Park's developmental curriculum is designed to support and stimulate the child's natural curiosity, interests, and abilities.

Services
In 1983, Nelda Cardozo started the Talbot Park Mother's Day Out program for the families of the church. They met one day a week. Soon after the program started it became evident that there was a need to offer this service to the community. The Mother's Day Out Program started meeting twice a week. Nelda left her position to take a full time teaching position in Virginia Beach.
Anna joined the staff in early 2019. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Old Dominion University. She is passionate about developing growth opportunities not only for each child, but also the Talbot Park staff. In her free time she loves spending time with her husband, and two young children. Holly has a long history with Talbot Park as she is also a Talbot Park Preschool graduate.
Talbot Park Baptist Preschool and Daycare is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment that engages children through play, exploration, and discovery. With a distinctively Christian focus, our goal is to partner with families in developing the whole child--intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually.
Our infant room is also known as our cub class. In this class, teachers continuously communicate intentions and outcomes to children, in order to foster their feelings of trust and independence. By thoughtful listening and through respectful verbal and physical cues, teachers intend to create an atmosphere where each child feels secure, autonomous, competent, and authentic.
The toddlers are broken up into three classes. These exploratory classes are made for curious fingers and toes. We know that learning to walk can be tough, but our patient and hands on staff members take all precautions to ensure your child's safety while your child learns about the world around them.
