Alletto's Restaurant

Came here for the second time after an awesome first experience a while back. My father introduced me to this restaurant and I will continue to bring more friends and family here to experience it as well. I can’t say enough about this place. It feels like you’re eating a home cooked meal at a family gathering. It just feels like home to me.
Nice and quiet atmosphere, good portion sizes. Salad dressings were so good, the bread came out fresh and literally steaming. My husband ordered the duck with the raspberry sauce and he absolutely loved it and raved about it. I ordered the chicken francese

Im sorry to say that this place did not meet my expectations. I don't like to bash or defam any place I visit. For the cost of the dinner was not worth it. Thumbs down.

If there were negative stars that's what they would get. By far one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had and I was looking forward to a nice meal with a friend I haven't seen in months. Upon arrival they ask you to stop at the specials board so we did we spent a few moments we all decided we were going to get the seafood combo which included flounder shrimp and scallops we also decided we were going to start with a cup of lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was okay but not a sighting of Lobster in any of the three cups that we had. Next came the salad that was family style with everything

We passed this restaurant many times always saying we have to try that place. We went last night and was pleasantly surprised. The servers were very nice giving us plenty of time to look ant the menu. My wife had the roast duck which was good, very few places offer duck on the menu so she was happy. I had the broiled seafood combo and it was very good. I have read some negative reviews of this restaurant and do not understand were these people were really eating because this is definitely a place I would return to.

I gave 4 stars because this was our first visit, but won't be our last.

The bread was excellent, the best we've gotten since we moved here 18 months ago. I thought their 2 lb. lobster was going to be good, but it wasn't sweet like a Maine lobster should be, in fact it had a funny aftertaste. The service was very good but they were only serving 4 tables. The restaurant is very dated, it is in dire need of new tables, chairs, cutlery, & bathrooms. They used paper table cloths instead of linens. All in all, I would not go back.

This is THE place to get a lobster. Price and quality are both unbeatable. You don’t go here for the decor, like the crazy person in the last review complained about. If you don’t like the decor now, you wouldn’t be happy with what the place use to look like. I actually loved the old decor of wood and the place was a lot darker and more nautical old time seafood joint. But this is where I go for most birthdays and the only place I go Lobster. Fresh baked bread and the salad bowl with their dressings they make are also awesome.

Fantastic environment and very personal service. The meals were fresh and delicious. Will easily recommend this place to my friends. Affordable rates and big meals. Great work.

Ok so it's not what I expected. The carpeting and decor are not to my taste. But I was pleasantly surprised by the seafood plate for two (there was alot in there). The food was ok some parts were a bit salty. The service was fine. Im giving it three stars because my daughters (who are both under 10 years) loved the seafood and the linguini. I guess it really depends on what your looking for... This reminded me of a diner not a restaurant.

Came by on Friday night, as soon as you walk in there's a full-service bar, tables to the back, it's got an old world seafood restaurant feel, With Italian dishes in a steakhouse, Haley was great , very attentive , food was outstanding , delicious , no complaints here , we will sure to come back again some day soon

Great ambiance. Quiet place. Great food and service. Lobster is always wonderful. I've been going here for over 25 years.

Went yesterday. Looking forward to getting their "famous" $24 two pound lobster. Got their at four. No sign of life. Called their number and was told by the person running it that she'd be a little late. Got in at about four twenty something. Asked about the special and was informed that it was no longer available at $24 but they had it for 33 dollars, 36 if I didn't pay cash.

As for the meal itself. Salad kind of grossed my wife out as some of the lettuce was brown. I bit into my shrimp cocktail. and water spewed out while the shrimp itself was rubbery. My margarita was okay

I have driven by this place for years and never tried them. Well I seen their ad in the paper and gave them a try and I'm glad I did.
I ordered take out and it was ready when I got there. The 2lb lobster was broiled perfectly, tender moist and delicious. The porterhouse steak was cooked medium rare and was also perfectly cooked and to top it off both are specials and sold at a very reasonable price.
I will definitely be going back to try something else on their menu.

A classic feel when you walk in. It feels like home. It feels like part of my child hood. Alletto's serves a nice variety on their menu. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive. I usually try a different dish when we go and I have not been disappointed. Between penne ala vodka, salmon, steak or chicken dish I have been satisfied. It's nice seeing a restaurant that's been around so long still remain open. Look forward to to our next trip in.

Old style family restaurant where you can linger and linger whether you want to or not. So be prepared to sit back and chill. It's like having dinner in a private house. 2lb broil Lobster special for $30 cash was cooked perfectly. The 4 shrimp were large and the 4 clams plump and juicy in the pasta dish with additional chopped clams in the sauce. Shrimp scampi tends towarda Oreganata more than scampi. You don't come here to be wowed but you come here for good old no frills Italian based food.

There is nothing appealing when you walk in . Dim, dingy, old , musty overall gross. Against my better judgment we sat down and ordered. After 45 minutes our food still didn't arrive. My husband asked when it would be done and we were told that the veal chop took a very long time and would be out in about 8 minutes. We asked for a check and left as we were done waiting. Veal and 2 fish orders should not take 55 minutes. Run away fast !

Great people. Kathy and her granddaughter waited on us. They were very friendly, professional and made us feel at home.
I had the garlic ribeye. It was wonderful. The rainbow cake disappeared in ten seconds. Yum. My mom and 13 year old son loved everything as well. I highly recommend that you visit this family run restaurant. There are not many like this left on Long Island.

Enjoy your 2lb or 3lb lobster ...w a side ...nice crispy cold iceberg lettuce salad , hot and crusty loaf of bread ... it's heavenly . Service is great . Love these guys . You can even call ahead and get a BIGGER lobster . I think one time we had a 9lb-er . The price is ultra-reasonable . Giant bowl of steamers were awesome too . JOE IS THE LOBSTER KING ! When you enter very old people at the bar.
You think the hostess is going to seat you but she just puts the menus on the table next to her then keeps looking at her phone. The bus boy took the menus then seated us. After we ordered the hostess/ waitress asked if we wanted to order a salad? Salad came with the dinner. We ordered Broiled lobsters and got steamed lobsters.
They serve soft shell lobsters-they have less meat than the hard shell lobster. My wife said they smell like they were cooked in dirty water.
She did not offer desert and they have great desserts so we paid and left

When we're in the mood for lobster, Alletto's is the spot! There is no place I know of on the south shore on Long Island that serves a more succulent, sweet lobster.
The wait staff is always on point too.

Very old and musty place. Popular with the senior crowd. We waited over an hour for our food only to be told at the one hour mark that they couldn't make one of our dishes.

I had the lobster which I found to be overcooked. My wife felt sick after she ate her food.

The staff looked like they were in misery working there. They were nice enough but with the place not even half full it took way too long to take the order, bring the bread and serve the food.

Pass on this one.
