Our two year old program focuses first on self-esteem and positive self image. Additional objectives include the enhancement of social interaction, self expression, creativity, large and small motor development, and intellectual growth. Planned activities and materials are open-ended to allow children at varying developmental levels to participate in and experience them in meaningful ways.

Children enhance social skills through play both in small groups and independent settings. Opportunities for problem solving are facilitated by staff as they arise throughout the day. Children are provided with individual attention and one on one conversation with teachers and staff. The room activities and group times are planned to enhance all areas of a child's development - cognitive, language, sensory, physical, social, and emotional.
Services
Several opportunities will be offered during the school year to acquaint parents with our program. In September there is an Orientation Night for parents to meet the teachers and see the classroom. On the first day of school, a parent comes with each child to class. In the middle of the school year, teacher-parent conferences are scheduled.
The preschool offers an early enrollment period for members of Newark United Methodist Church and former/current preschool families the last week of January. All openings not filled during this time are open to all community families the first Monday of February. To apply submit application for registration and parent's right to know.
